Kaio
Hey guys, I was planning on buying a new console after getting bored with my Wii and PS2. So i was wondering if someone could help me out with the choice between xbox 360 and the PS3. Problem is i am low on cash. The recent xbox 360 S bundles have recieved a price cut in the UK. I was thinking if i could buy one because i am going there during the next month. Will games in India work if i buy a system from UK? Which console should i buy? Should i wait till after E3? Should i sell my current consoles for cash? Please Help. ~Kaio
Javs
if u are into online gaming, Xbox is the best otherwise u can choose any for single player
Kaio
So should i buy it from here or abroad??
Sackboy
Buy a PS3 as 1. It has a better line up for 2011 2.as Javs stated 360 might have a slightly better online experience , you have to pay 60$ every year to use it , while PS3 has free online 3.It is region free so buy games from anywhere and run them without hassles 4.Blu Ray , PS3 doubles up as a Blu Ray player and a VERY VERY GOOD media center The only reason for buying a 360 S 4 GB that i can think of is the 50$ less price and kinect , i dont consider the latter as a real +ve feature
killzone123
would suggest you to wait a bit..save more..and buy any console you wish xbox/ps3 from india only...it will give you warranty and peace of mind...buying such a expensive thing without warranty is not advisable bro
Kaio
Im drifting towards the 360 bandwagon and yes i will purchase the 4 GB model most probably. Is there a way of increasing the HDD space???
piper
Yes, you can increase the HDD space but it is very costly as Microsoft proprietary hard disks need to be used. Unlike PS3 where you can use just about any HDD. Presently, 160GB slim PS3 should cost you 18K. And its worth it.
piper
By the way, PS3 owners will support PS3 choice, while 360ers will support theirs. Fair enough. Thats why its better to take opinion of a few people who have both the consoles coz I did just that. Thanks Tony Montana by the way !
varundbest
You can get any console, both are good for their own purposes. PS3 have blu-ray but how often u play a blu-ray movie in india? I havent played even 1!?!?! They are costly and blu-ray just gives u mind peace and nothing else. People like to buy more than required stuff (Like me). Try both consoles first, u can get a preview at showroom and if you like online stuff more and halo series then go for xbox otherwise ps3 will be cheaper in the long run and you can also taste online for free And as of xbox 360 HDD, you can buy xbox's HDD casing (rare to find if you dont know the correct place) and fit any normal 2.5" SATA to it and use

Sackboy
For online play both are almost same personally I feel , xbox live only good if you buy a lot of games from the marketplace , PS3 is free online so I would still suggest that , PS3 even has a better line up
piper
yeah? n i hope xbox wont get outdated any time soon (2-3 years) i aint buying a new console in a long time.. The next generation of consoles will take anywhere between 2-3 years to turn up. But similar to the PS2 story, PS3 will have its good library of new games for the next 6 years at least. Not sure about 360 in this regard. The blu-ray in PS3 ensures that 1. Games have a lot of data they can store on a blu-ray, giving developers the chance to create amazing graphics in games like God Of War, Uncharted and Killzone series. 2. Blu-ray discs are quite scratch-resistant, so the discs have a longer life and amazing resale value. 3. Its a blu-ray player, think of the future For online gaming PSN is free, but 360 live will cost around Rs. 300 per month I think. Controllers of both are different, and 360 is supposed to have a more comfortable to hold one. But analog sticks in 360 are not symmetrical (the left one is above). 360 controller uses replaceable batteries, PS3 has inbuilt (just charge and it works for days). Again bro, consult someone who owns both consoles. And then simply go with your gut (and wallet ) feeling.
Choron ka raja
since you have already owned ps2, ps3 is better choice, as most probably you would like your favorite games in HD rather than totally new IP.

Javs
i have both consoles, i have an xbox for 3 yrs now and i recently also got ps3 just to play UC2(that is one of the best games i have played) the xbox is still by far my choice of console where games come out on both consoles for the xbox u can start with 4gb and use USB sticks can support 2x16GB should be good enough i would say so ur HDD worries is solved the xbox controller > ps3 controller any day xbox online is great experience where ps3, i dont like it personally even though its free ps3 has advantage of blu-ray and region free games. i personally only play ps3 exclusives on it choice is urs! edit : i re-read the thread and u said online play!, close ur eyes and get the xbox u will not regret it
killzone123
xbox online is great experience where ps3, i dont like it personally even though its free its natural for people to think that since they are paying for something,it has to be good coming on the topic psn being free doesnt make it bad...yea live is better, but psn is not that bad too
