trouble connecting pc to ps3

i want to transfer media files from my pc to the ps3 .

i have winxp and wmp11, but it seems vista is required for media sharing.

any help is appreciated.

no pendrive/dvd solutions pl.

Vista is not a prerequisite for media sharing and steaming between PC and PS3.

tried everything but the ps3 gives no media server detected msg.

i am using a crossed lan cable to directly connect the ps3 to the pc.

pinging the ps3 gives a response , but no further recognition between the 2 systems.

reverted to normal xp from sp2 and tversity worked.

for some strange reason was getting limited connectivity with the sp2 pack.

now i am able to stream from my pc to the ps3 through a wired connection.

thats because your SP2 firewall must be blocking the PS3...if u do revert back to SP2 try disabling the firewall whose icon would show up in the taskbar's notification area (lower right corner)
