Assassin's Creed: Revelations

pop 2008 was open world game

Oh please, playing same levels in different colors, playing same bosses after every alternate (or was it two?) levels, and roaming like an idiot back to where you started after each completed level, made me think that whether Prince really lost the donkey or Devs are making a donkey out of us by this repeated platforming.

I thought in the alternate ending Prince points towards the guy playing the game and says: "Ahaa! Found my donkey"

I thought it had a very SOTC-like vibe to it. Empty world with only a few characters and brilliant art direction. It may not be a true successor to the SOT trilogy but it was a nice little spin off.

pop 2008 suffered from the same problems that far cry 2 and assassins creed 1 did... they had some genuinely good ideas for the gameplay design and art direction but it was only entertaining for about 2 hours worth of game time. and then they went on to copy paste the same things over and over until it became mundane and tedious instead of being fun to play.

THIS THIS THIS. They just stretched the open world concept too far with these 3 games. Do the same thing over and over and over again. They redeemed themselves with AC 2, and now FC3 looks great. But they left POP 2008 as it is as it was beyond redeemable.

C'mon people is it so hard to accept that there are people who may like stuff you don't?

For the record, I've clocked in over 30 hours on FC2. Sure there were problems but they were blown out of proportion by folks on the internet. And the only reason why POP 08 gets all the hate was because it was a POP game, they should have just branded it as a spin-off or a new IP.

Exactly this. This is why a sequel in the same vein as AC2 would be amazing.

@Ambar - AFAIK PoP08 didn't sell well and PoP:TFS sold even worse.

@Tyler - Agreed. It would've been better as a new IP. No idea why they named it PoP..

And I played through AC1 four times and never got bored, because the gameplay itself was so incredibly well done and addictive. Yeah the problems still exist and you can't dispute them, but for some the stuff they like far outweighs the negative part of it, for others it doesn't.

single player preview

Assassin's Creed Revelations is set to land on Xbox 360 and other platforms in a mighty big way this November, and Ubisoft has been pulling out all the stops recently to make sure fans and newcomers alike are up to date on the back and forth battle between the Assassins and Templars.

Those who haven't been living under a rock will be aware that Revelations is so much more that a struggle for supremacy between two ancient Orders. The fourth game in the franchise will serve to tie up loose ends and conclude the intertwined stories of both Altair and Ezio, with the latter finally leaving Italy, and journeying to Masyaf (Altair's home city) to seek out 5 seals left behind by the legendary Assassin. These seals unlock a library hidden beneath the city, in which lies a weapon of great importance, once that can turn the tide of battle greatly in the favour of whichever side wields it. While the Templars are in possession of one of the Seals, the other Four are scattered around the city of Constantinople, and these are accessible to Ezio as Sofia missions (Sofia Sorto being an extremely important part of Ezio's story, which we won't spoil for you at this present time.) The Sofia missions are similar to the Romulus and Templar lairs that players encountered in Brotherhood, and will test your free running, platforming and puzzle solving skills like never before.

For the first time in the franchise, Assassin's Creed: Revelations will be in 3D. All platforms will get support for the tech with console players also being able to use the TriOviz Inficolor 3D support, regardless of your TV type. If you have a 3D TV the game is compatible with those as well.

On PC, Assassin's Creed: Revelations will be compatible with NVIDIA 3D Vision.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the fourth iteration of the franchise, and tracks Ezio Auditore as he looks to unravel the mysterious ties between himself, the order of assassins, and the Templar Army. Assassin's Creed: Revelations will be available on November 15th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and two weeks later on PC.
