Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Wow.. another impactful ending. Desmond seems a have a lot to do and apparently, he knows what to do now. More work for Nolan North.

Story was not as strong as ACII or Brotherhood but the varied missions and improved gameplay really is worth it. Back to multiplayer now.

^^ But AC3 could have the same jump in quality/features as AC1 to AC2. And I'm pretty sure the guys at Ubi are smart enough not to give us the same thing for the 4th time in a row. AC3 will be different. Plus it would be difficult to avoid it after all this build-up.

Since you've been following the series for so long (you even picked up this game when clearly it's an attempt at milking the franchise) might as well stick around and see it to the end.

Yup the hype will drive me to the store, make me part with my hard earned money. So i can run around on the pyramids, jump in their bales of hay or whatever.

I am already disappointed with my Future Self.

Here is Yahtzee on the game

i know someone who is working on ac3 but he refuses to tell me anything about it :( he did say though that he wished it could come on next gen consoles because that would give the franchise some breathing room + it would look far better on the new hardware. he mentioned that the brotherhood dev team is working on ac3, and that revelations was done mostly by a separate team, so this one will have a couple of years of dev time unlike the last games.

Yes yes next year will be the end. The creative director himself said that the next game will end the "Desmond cycle".

Although I doubt it will be in present day. AC has always been in historic settings. It's what the series is known for.

@Spin - That's good to hear. I've suspected that was the case. Ubisoft Montreal didn't do much work on ACR

@Tyler - I highly doubt we'll see the kind of jump we saw from AC1 to AC2. With AC1, Ubi had their work cut out for them, considering it wasn't received well and many people complained about repetition, they knew that they had to change.

But they've got it right with AC2 and ACB. They'll probably be an overhaul in setting, but other than that I don't see much changes happening. Probably they'll keep everything from Brotherhood and introduce a few new mechanics the way they did with ACR.

  • 2 weeks later...

I finally started playing.

My first session was good. I liked the music, I liked the graphics (definitely improved - anyone who says otherwise is blind). I liked Constantinople. Didn't like the Chariot Race. f**k everything about that.

After my second session of playing - I'm not happy to say that it really feels like 'more of the same'. Series fatigue is definitely setting in. Side missions, which I couldn't stop doing in ACB, are now boring to me. My most major gripe is how long the tutorials are. Two whole memory sequences (2 and 3, I think) feel like boring tutorial after tutorial. what the *bleep* Ubi?

I like the hookblade. I didn't think Den Defence was all that bad.
