SC has more depth than those other games you mentioned.....The reason you see alot of matches get over quick is coz ppl dont block when they mash :P.... if you havent bought SC4 then get this

Well as someone said here , i played SC4 with a friend but some things i observed that defense is very tough in this game , when you are against a wall or something & someone is doing the same attack over & over and even if i blocked them it was really difficult to break free & the interval between attacks is really less so even if i blocked then the opponents fighter does not get some breathing space , the next attack comes to quickly & it's difficult to counter it , now i get why all these fights end so quickly & majority of people are seen very less defending , i seen IGN Criticize MK because you win by using the " cheap tricks " as they say but i felt the that about SC4

 

It is like tekken fighting engine is applied to this game , being a namco game it maybe the case , for punches & kicks it was ok for such fast combat , but when it comes to wielding weapons the speed should be a bit toned down as that makes it difficult to defend , especially since 2-3 special moves with one or two punches kills a round so easily

 

Well the graphics on the other hand are awesome , but then female fighters feel more powerful than make fighters , females like taki , that emo witch girl who hold a circular weapon & some others except ivy feel way powerful in chaining combos

 

my friend was attacking me with only two moves of each fighter & the irony is those were so fast that most of the time i could not chain combos & explore the game in depth , i didn't feel the fun of winning with the same 2-3 attacks myself , so i guess i will give SC5 a skip :(

Watch that review , your favorite Mortal Kombat Break & special attack system is copied into this game along with the same effects as the MK system , i wonder what your reaction will be after playing this game :bigyellowgrin:

To be serious though the graphics are good the characters are appealing especially the protagonists , the make guy reminds me of the hero of kingdom hearts made into a 3d model , but still the MK Like block system & also the tedious ways to perform the simple blocks seems to be a major downer , still will check out the demo if it's there to make a sound opinion

I Know re , but i seen the gameplay & those new gauge's or bars look & act in the same way MK's Rage & X-Ray move bars , with the same offense & defense effects , being a MK Fan i am really happy we became the Apple of the copiers today ,it goes to show you everyone runs out of new idea's hehehe........ :bigyellowgrin: [ One Piece xD ]

MKs X-ray gauge is a rip off of KOFs Super gauge which they made in 1994 :) (and has become a standard even in SF after SF alpha).... MK never brought any new mechanic ever , even rage was done before...

 

King Of Fighters is a Eternal Epic Fail

 

I played 1-2 of those games in past but did not like them that much , the characters of the current KOF also move like they are still models of the old 90's game , anyway the gauge system is there in most of the fighters right now i guess as you pointed out but to take it & use it in the same way as MK's works is too much
