Kid: hey activision are you going to have any preorder bonuses for mw3

Activision: what?!? Why should I spend my money to give you free bonuses!!! I believe in suckering as much money as possible! (thinking: oh wait bf3 is giving out free bonuses)

Activision: hey kid I’ll give you a bonus for preordering

Kid: really what?

Activision: a cheap poster that’ll only cost me a cent each if i ship it from china and i don’t care if the color is toxic

Kid: what?

Activision: oh I said a poster forget the rest I said and don’t blog it online and quote me (evil laugh)

Kid: WTF! That’s it!!?? You make a whole bunch of money from us and that’s what we get!!!??(gets his bat)….SMACK!!!! (then kid runs away with Activision’s wallet)

your pre-order bonus is that you get the full game everyone else gets on day 1 instead of bits and pieces like in battlefield 3 :giggle:

but this is great... someone is actually trying to spin pre-order dlc and retailer specific bonuses as a positive thing. well done sir :hi2:

Erm.. what's that? BF3 won't be shipping as a complete game or something?

Or are you talking about the Karkand map pack?

yes the karkand pack. and the physical warfare pack. and the specact pack. and the dog tag pack. some of which you can only get if you pre-order. others that you can't get no matter what. until, that is, ea releases it as paid dlc

the karkand map pack is a real gem though. every game has dlc these days, there's nothing surprising about that but the shamelessness which ea have shown with this map pack is something else. build a game with 13 maps, cut out 4 maps and ship with only 9. give the 4 extra maps as a 'free pre-order bonus' so that fools think they are getting something 'extra'. those same 4 maps will be available on day 1 for 15$ extra, so if you buy the game after release, you have to pay 60+15=75$ and you still don't get all the content :giggle:. and to top it all off, ea india increases the price of the game because people are getting what should be 'free content' extra in the limited edition. throw in an online pass on consoles and mandatory origin use on pc and you have the full, amazing package.

call of duty, buy anywhere, any time and you get the same content as everyone else.

so yea, it's really fun when the battlefield fanbois believe that the community dividing, consumer-f**king pre-order bonuses are a good thing :)

+1

I agree!

I had the same issue with Bad Company 2. Buy the game at full price. If you buy a used copy then you shell out a couple of $ to get the VIP Pass. COD is the same experience irrespective of MRP or used purchase.

Agree with you on that one. The whole concept of Day One DLC pisses me off. And (stating the obvious) with BF3, the pre-order bonus is free Day One DLC to first hand buyers.

I still haven't pre-ordered any game yet. Still trying to finalize the specs for my new rig.. :(
