quixote_1989
I listen to purely heavy metal, that's the only kind of music I listen to, would it be good for me? My original choice was the 50x also, that's apparently one of the best headphones available, even mkbhd has high praises about it, problem is spending 10k on a headphones I have never heard seemed too much to me, I am not even sure my ears are that sensitive enough to appreciate the difference between these high quality headphones. Hence the 20x feels quite more affordable and worth the loss if I don't like them. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk Isn't good bass a requirement for heavy metal ? If so, then this might not be the best option for you (judging by the reviews).

I listen to purely heavy metal, that's the only kind of music I listen to, would it be good for me? Why not go for an IEM, something around ~$50 mark, BRAINWAVZ, SoundMAGIC, MEElectronics et al. I will get the Kingston Cloud Core gaming headset soon, they have an interesting genealogy would report if it is any good for music. quixote_1989
Define good bass please. Bass-heavy.. I guess.
ALPHA17
^ Sound is a subjective taste. Good bass does not mean heavy bass, it can mean very marginal amount of bass-line represented tightly. So instead of thumping noise, you might get someone who prefers minimal bass which is taut and has an impacting sound. I would define that as good bass for myself.

Had tried one of Sony's sub 2k 'Extra Bass' headphones once, god-awful quality !!
