Big Boss
Seriously this is BS. They couldn't digest consumers getting great discounts for a few hours? f**king a**hole middlemen. This country has gone to the dogs.
ALPHA17
yep just saw that apology mail from bansal brothers Google smart scan straight away put those to my spam folder Thats why couldn't find them Brutal. Then these same companies go parading around that their are not enough consumers in India.
Big Boss
And they are worrying about devaluing their brands? Ever heard of more penetration? Maybe they are just faking it to calm down the brick and mortar retailers who are sh*ting bricks. I hope amazon too gives such offers. It will be terrible if they are forced to not give discounts. ALPHA17
^ If Amazon.in is being driven by Brazos, he will push through regardless, that man is a monster in a right. But he knows how to get people.
Right
Amazon is nothing compared to Walmart and walmart was knocked down here. They were left bruised with charges of bribery and sh*t. And CCI is one of the deadliest authority in India, they will protect the masses that is vendors. I hoped the companies to standby the e-tailers but they seem to have misread the plot. Amazon is better known in e-retail than Walmart. And rightly so, Amazon.in is here, Walmart is not.

Actually a certain level of price hygiene should be maintained. Most of the online retailers are selling at loss to capture the market. Flipkart is losing about 10 million USD per month. Physical retailers, not only the small ones but even the big ones are on verge of collapse. Not saying that discounts should be stopped, but a sweet spot needs to be found. The point is, all this hoopla is for a single day sale. They couldn't even bear a simple 24hr sale. We are not talking about 365 day sale here. This is just pathetic. rAgHaV
Yeah really sad stuff. Instead of improving their service these physical retailers are using really cheap tactics. f**k pricing these f**kers won't even tell you the actual price of a product most of the time on Phone here in South Delhi. They ask you to visit their store for the actual best price They've been looting us since ages abh zada aag lag rahi hai inko. I haven't bought a single item from a physical store since 3 yrs and I never will.

Bhpian Bali
We are a democratic country and not a Consumerist and Capitalist Nation.. As GS said there should be discounts but some sense in it.. And the statement that people may lose jobs actually shpuld make u a lil more concerned than not getting such discounts.. This statement is not coming out of my morality but my humanity..
Big Boss
People lose jobs all the time with advancement in technology. If we are that much worried about jobs, let's remove automated machineries and computers and go back to manual labor. And this was just a ONE FREAKING DAY discount. No need to throw fits over that. dullu
Just came here after reading the ET articles. Not sure if the same companies launch such protests in developed nations. Are they creating a lot of noise here because these e-retailers will prevent them from pricing stuff at ludicrous prices? And following shady deals themselves when they quote exchange rates while increasing prices but never bring them down ? I remember how milestone and g4u played the dirty game a few years ago. And Sony better not crib after setting unrealistic prices on their consumer electronics items. Presence of online retailers is the way moving forward. The only price advantage can be offered by physical retailers if they deal with grey market items. Yes times are changing and the consumer finally has a say now. Hence these brands and store keepers are shouting aloud. Btw, speaking of large corporate houses, have seen a few reliance stores and chains shutting down simply because they could not cater to the customer properly. If you cannot provide a much coveted game to an avid fan on launch day, heck would he care for your chain or blah. The rule is quite simple here : the landscape is going to change as we move towards being a more progressive nation. And the ones who cannot scale up simply have to go home.
