MAIN QUESTION - since these Pros are in warranty, what should I tell Apple Authorised service centre to get them to replace them?

Yup. You can try.

The chances are they will replace these because the serial number is showing up on your phone and verifiable on Apple website.

Also, Apple doesn’t offer any repairs. They only replace them with new ones under warranty.

Apple won’t replace if the AirPods are fake.

This is also true.

If amazon does not provide the replacement or refund, as a last resort you could try claiming them under warranty, saying that NC and transparency aren't working.

If you're lucky they would overlook the authenticity and give you a replacement based on the serial number.

if you connect these Pros to an iPhone, warranty coverage till March 2024 shows up. If you check serial number on https://checkcoverage.apple.com/, same coverage shows up - are they fake then??

Now CT scan to see real or fake.

It’s really embarrassing for Apple that counterfeit products are not recognised by iPhone and still shows up as genuine, with warranty info.

They need to fix it asap

if go to Apple authorised service centre, and give them my AirPods and simply tell them that ANC and transparency isn’t working and this is the serial number which checks out on Apple website and is under warranty - will they replace it? Or will they ask for invoice and product box?

They won’t ask for product box.

Schedule a repair directly from your iPhone, on the Apple support app. It will show the closest service center to you.

Show the invoice if they specifically ask, but mostly they won’t ask if your device is linked with your Apple ID.
The warranty info is auto verified anyway.

The only way they can determine those are fake is if they use some calibration device to test the authenticity.
But I highly doubt if they do all this because AirPods are impossible to repair. The only repair they offer is replacement.

Just give it a try and hope for a replacement.

Basically what Vamos said. Take the box and invoice for *just in case* ask. Else everything via phone support app.

My dear man! You may be on to something

the fake AirPods Pro is indeed under warranty coverage till 30 March 2024 as I could see on checkcoverage.apple.com and also shows same warranty coverage on my iPhone when AirPods Pro are connected

but these are sure as sh*t fake because the plastic is just cheap and flimsy. I compared them with other older AirPods non-pro which I have

I haven’t really checked these AirPods Pro for ANC properly but it doesn’t seem to be working for the few seconds I checked

Just to offer my contrarian opinion here, I know no one asked, but why involve apple here when you know you’ve received something not upto the mark from the seller?
This cycle enables the seller to sell more counterfeit things, unsuspecting people to fall for them, and for apple to become wary of, and create hoops to offer service to legit buyers .

Plus if you do this, and apple does offer a replacement, your warranty still ends in March 2024 which is just 4 months away. I’d recommend to get Amazon to issue a replacement with an apology, get the real thing, and purchase AppleCare+ (from apple) that extends warranty to three years.

Really difficult to show that Amazon/seller shipped a wrong product.

I’ve already raised a complaint with Amazon, will call again and force this letter down their throats

Damn.. if Amazon stays stringent here and says it’s a secure package and all that BS, then you’re left no options?  :ko:

Btw, how did they verify the authenticity and what did they say?

I am sorry this happened to you. I have read so many complaints for Amazon and Flipkart regarding airpods specifically that I will only buy them from apple store directly or a genuine store reseller like Imagine etc. Even if costs a little more the peace of mind for a genuine product is invaluable.

I though of getting airpods pro 2 for 17-18k but then I came across a Deal for Soundcore liberty 4 NC so bought them instead for 6k around. Extremely happy with the purchase so far as ANC is excellent and more than what I needed in my routine. I am using another Soundcore tws since last 3 Years so I was confident about their sound quality and it's quite good as usual. Only downside is battery drains quiet fast with ANC at Max level but that's a trade off I don't mind as I don't use them for more than 2 hours anyways and they charge really fast in case. Also Adaptive noise cancelling and multi point connection works extremely well. It has almost all features of airpods at lesser price.

The guy just took the AirPods in his hand, felt it for a few seconds, noted that it said “Made in USA” and immediately said it’s fake

at that moment, I instantly had a mental laugh because that “made in usa” is hilarious

then I pretended to be shocked and angry and told him that serial number checks out on OFFICIAL Apple website and protested and all but to no avail, he said we absolutely can’t do anything

then I dropped the act and said just give me the Denial of Service letter and I’ll go. I actually told him exactly what wording I wanted in the letter which I want to submit to Amazon and he happily gave me that it’s not a genuine Apple product

Expected. The challenge still is Amazon believing you’re not scamming them and it is the other way round.

If I lose my 18k on this, I’ll stop buying unnecessary electronics sh*t, will probably end up saving lakhs

Yeah, this is a dead giveaway.

None of the Apple stuff says “made” anywhere.
Only designed or assembled.
