abhi90
So there i was, searching for a thread that did not exist for over a year, so i thought why not create one? Afterall we have threads for other sports and other weird objects of fascination :| So everything badminton related goes in this thread, any suggestion or experience talk or any doubt etc. go in this thread. P.S: Even if you dislike the sport or haven't given it a try, it's pretty nice, in more than one way
abhi90
Ok, so i'm a pretty avid badminton player, but never was in any team partly because of my tardiness and the rest due to politics. Recently got a new racquet, and it's pretty damn awesome, the sound Been playing it since my childhood and it's one of my favorite games along with TT. godspeed4476
Never played badminton professionally apart from few inter collegaite matches, but this is one of the sport I enjoy the most. Used to play regularly with my friends earlier in the local gymkhana court, but these days am missing out on action.
Madhav
I play badi almost every day... A couple of us guys have constructed a badi court for ourselves in a nearby park... & that court has turned out to be a chick magnet!! @akash: nice @unknown: finally something is known i was surprised at how much things have progressed, i used to only know about a normal steel racquet and strings, and now the string force, isometric shape, carbon fibre, graphite, titanium, tungsten and god knows what else I've been playing badi for about good 8 years & all these names that you are taking are available since that long. I remember when I 1st got my good yonex racket, I saw all & finally had to choose isometric coz of budget constraints...
abhi90
well as i said, i've come to know them now, pus isometric is considered better na what racket do you use

Joy
I used to play during the school days , took part in some inter school tourneys as well , still have my trusty old racket lying , Cosco CB 110.
Madhav
well as i said, i've come to know them now, pus isometric is considered better na what racket do you use no... Titanium, tungsten, carbon fibre & graphite are the elitist group of rackets one could use to play badi... I got myself a Carbonex 8000 (carbon fibre + graphite) a couple of years back... sturdy & lighter than a feather!! I also have carbonex 7000 which is good, but not that good... isometric is now lying with a friend... Also, never use the stock gutting that is already on the racket... it'll downgrade yur power & game considerably... yonex BG 65 is the most commonly used guts which are very nice... but one day I found out at the sports complex that BG 95 was also available... got them and wow... they are some titanium guts which balances out the racket all throughout and makes it even lighter!! abhi90
well i've you've heard of everything, i bet you haven't heard of noise filter. I was so so so close to buying a carbonex 8000 day before. I'll change it, even my friend told me about the BG65 but i think i'll wait until a couple of the strings break. Never tried wilsons, but liked the lower end silvers and the lower end cosco's, i tried the mid range cosco's but found them to be awful, not according to how i play. So for the first time in my life, i've bought a yonex, and you don't get any brand other than yonex or cosco here :| @unknown: great @joy: badminton bhi, you teh knowz everythingzzzzz

I'm seriously telling you that these custom strings sucks a*s... from personal experience and from the advices of many badi state levels whom I happened to knew once... BG 65 is the best option but if yu could find BG 95 then its even better.. its very hard to find though!! Also, yu do get rackets other than yonex & cosco here... sports shop that i know of has all yonex, head, wilson, etc
