On the topic of new Bakra's.......Despite knowing her for 13 years, She still surprised me by holding my PS4 hostage.

Got married just 2 months back.

Cheers

Was just going through random IVG threads to pass time and found this one. Awesome thread

IVG ID : Dragon
Gaming stuff I own : PS2, PS3, PS4
Married since : March, 2014 (Together since October 2012)

1. How does your spouse feel about your gaming time?

She knew i was an avid gamer before we even met. She was a friend of a friend of mine and we met at his birthday party and the only thing that my friend had told her about me was that i was always gaming. She has always treated it as my passion and has never questioned it. I still game 4-5 Hrs daily and she does not disturb me unless its really urgent. She likes to watch my gaming sessions. Recently she watched my whole play through of Far Cry 3. I just have make sure i give her ample time too and watch movies with her or go out once or twice a week. Also she is into English TV series and movies. So i keep downloading stuff to keep her busy when i am playing a game she is not interested in watching.

2. Does she think those gaming figurines would come in handy for the kids to play with?

Don't Have any.

3. And the money spent on this passion, how does she feel about it?

Again, she never questions my purchases. In fact when some times i am in a double mind as to whether i should purchase some game or not, she insists (also forced a couple of times) that i should go and buy it because she knows that it will not come off my mind until i do it.

Megz questions v1 :
4. Do you encourage your wife to play some videogames with you?

Tried. But she says she gets confused with all the buttons on the controller.

5. Would you be happy, surprised, thrilled or scared if your wife also became a member of IVG?

Surprised i think

6. Do you encourage your wife or share her passions say may be, Saas-Bahu serial, Or Romantic YRF movie Or Cricket, Or Bhartnatyam Dance Show etc..?

Her only passion is Fashion Designing of which i dont understand a thing about.

7. How many hours in a week you devote to your Gaming?

20+ Hrs i think

8. What are three things you wish your wife would understand about you and your connection with Gaming?

Nothing.

Megz questions v2 :
9. If you want one game to see your wife beat you in..Which one will that be?

Never given this a thought.

10. What changes after marriage?? As in, Me time, utilization of me time, you as a person

The only thing that changed is now i don't game till the sun comes up. Have to sleep max by 2 a.m.

11. Would you like your kid(s) to be an avid gamer(s)?
That will be completely up to them

12. Have you ever planned a surprise gift/ party/ outing for your better half??
Do it ocassionally

This thread is great

*grabs popcorn* :P

^^ THIS

My first thought too

And actually, for many it would be this thread that would bring solace to people who cant get their loved ones understand 'gaming passions' and suffer chagrin(humiliation) by someone of their own age....its like....grab a beer ,cry and read...drench/share ur saddness over here.

I guess many ppl here don't fall under that category.

Lol true. While a lot of our wives don't share our "gaming passion" I don't think they give us too much grief. You can say we've found a balance.

I know this is true for me because she's the one who gifted me the PSP, Ps3, Vita and a sh*t load of games. In fact almost all the physical games I own from the last 6 years were gifts from her :D

1. How does your spouse feel about your gaming time?
-- She is ok with it. She understand that it is my hobby; so till I am doing it on my free time, no problem.

2. Does she think those gaming figurines would come in handy for the kids to play with?
-- I have couple of them and she jokes about it sometime. I show her “not for kids/play” label in the package. I think she got it.

3. And the money spent on this passion, how does she feel about it?

-- I keep it under wraps for my regular game purchases. For any system related investment (purchased PS3 or pc upgradation ), she is ok for far.

Megz questions v1 :

4. Do you encourage your wife to play some videogames with you?
-- Yes, but her laptop is not that powerful to handle most of the modern co-op games. But she plays Sims 3 and like and recently my sister in law also joined the club.

5. Would you be happy, surprised, thrilled or scared if your wife also became a member of IVG?
-- Happyyyy

6. Do you encourage your wife or share her passions say may be, Saas-Bahu serial, Or Romantic YRF movie Or Cricket, Or Bhartnatyam Dance Show etc..?
-- Nah,, I already trained her for my kind of movies, so far she like watching super hero movies in big screen. I don’t watch hindi serial, she watch some of them but she does not try to rub it on me.

7. How many hours in a week you devote to your Gaming?
-- On week days, 1-2 hours regularly and weekends 5-6 hours. Overall 10-15 hours weekly.

8. What are three things you wish your wife would understand about you and your connection with Gaming?
-- She already understand it.

Megz questions v2 :
9. If you want one game to see your wife beat you in..Which one will that be?
-- She already beat me in Sims 3
J

10. What changes after marriage?? As in, Me time, utilization of me time, you as a person
-- I can’t do gaming marathon,, gone are the days when on occasional holidays I used to game for whole day and live like a zombie.

11. Would you like your kid(s) to be an avid gamer(s)?
-- Not avid, but I will introduce them to Nintendo game at first. No call of duty for them till they cross their mid teen. Gaming is a hobby, that’s it.

12. Have you ever planned a surprise gift/ party/ outing for your better half??

--- Gift yes, party/outing not yet –good idea!!
