I agree with Praveer on the gun play part but Cryostasis an abomination??? No, just no. That was a great game with nice story.

And yeah, one more Microsoft exclusive goes multi.

The gunplay was meant to be sloppy in Metro 2033 because you're a 20 year old who has barely stepped out of his station you can't expect him to have the aim of a Gordon Freeman, plus guns would jam etc imho the sloppy gunplay works well because of the setting.

Scary moments when facing an onslaught of those oversized crazy rat creatures with a brick wall / immovable fence to your back. :P

AWWWWWWWW YYEAAAAHHHHHHHH !!!!

Fixed.

+1 also, gas mask ftw.

Yeah. The moment you step out in the open you start worrying about the gas mask filters you're carrying. And then there are those unwanted "bitches" you have to spend your precious "money" on to keep away, or else they'll get to your a*s (talk about unsolicited prostitution). The breathlessness that's felt when finally running out of mask filter.. it is all too good and adds so much to the atmosphere.

Modern shooters “more disposable” – Metro Last Light dev

Metro Last Light won’t be just your “typical run-and-gun,” says THQ’s Huw Benyon – who says a lot of contemporary shooters leave him unable to “remember what I’ve played or where I’ve been when I look back on them.”

While the initial gameplay footage from Metro 2033 follow-up Last Light has seemed very action focused, Benyon has promised that the sequel won’t “deviate from that balance of gameplay and that Metro experience” – not least because a lot of others shooters leave him feeling “almost fatigue” at their all-action style.

“I kind of have this almost-fatigue with contemporary shooters,” Benyon said. “I can’t remember what I’ve played or where I’ve been when I look back on them. If your focus is just pure adrenaline action all the time, then I guess that thing is made a little more disposable.”

Instead, Metro Last Light will set out to build a memorable game world first and foremost: “for us, it’s really important to create the sensation that this is a place you visit and explore. And even though it’s horrific, you want to return to it.”

“Ultimately, I love that world-building. I love games that really build up their fiction and consistencies in the world,” Benyon told VG247, citing Half Life 2 and Bioshock as prime examples of what the Metro team are looking to achieve: “It’s this massively evocative memory of a world that you played in. And I guess from modern times, we’re looking at places like City 17 or Rapture – these places that leave an indelible memory.”
