Halo games have campaigns that are at least thrice as long as a standard COD game with much better stories and level design. Besides the series managed to give birth to an iconic character. If you're talking about MP then the thing you said only applies to Halo 3 and Reach. No one is asking the creators of COD to drastically change the MP experience (if it ain't broke...) its just that the rest of the game needs work, especially the SP and overall presentation (something Halo has continually improved). And by "presentation" I don't mean graphics. Take StarCraft II for example, its fundamentally the same game as SC1, why? because it worked. But look at the rest of the game, the SP is drastically improved and you can see how much effort has gone into it. I can see that Halo with all its colour and alien environments doesn't appeal to you and that's fine, but it has a huge following for a reason. Same as how Americans eat up each and every COD game. 343 has got a solid crew including Ryan Payton from Koji Pro and ex-Bungie team. Not to mention they're named after a Halo character. MS doesn't have balls to release a Halo game against COD ..They know it will beat Halo in sales.... Its 6-8 hours of non-stop roller coaster ride where as Halo becomes boring after a while coz every level feels and look similar... imo...As far as story is concerned i think its ok not up to the Mass Effect or Bioshock level sorry.... Today every good developer is trying to improve their game . ..DICE is trying to take BF to next Level with BF3...GG took Killzone to next level with Kz2 . Ken Levine is taking Bioshock to next level with Infinite ........ Even Bungie was bored with Halo..That's why they decided to move on to create something new and better.... Too many ppl Halo 3 was nothing but HD remake of C.E.....lol....Halo 3 has to be the most over-rated game of this Gen..imo... :| ...Reach was lil better imo.. (Looks like I like Halo games more when that Tin man is not around ) ..Only thing i liked it abt Halo 3 was Forge....& its epic music.... Anyway, All iam saying 343 & MS needs to shake things up and take some risk with Halo 4..Don't change the gameplay but atleast add some variety and all... They feel like a "ride", as if the game is playing itself and all you're doing is pulling the trigger. Halo on the other hand gives you many options to deal with each an every encounter. Do you snipe from afar? Do you go in with a vehicle? Do you hijack an aircraft and fly in? etc etc... I like that sort of stuff. Plus it lets you clear out enemies, something I really like to do in my shooters. Too many ppl Halo 3 was nothing but HD remake of C.E.....lol....Halo 3 has to be the most over-rated game of this Gen..imo... :| ...Reach was lil better imo.. It changed a lot of things which made it feel different compared to the other Halo titles. It also had a great story, set pieces and possibly the best OST of the series.
