Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

Halo: Anniversary is planned to be almost exactly like the original Combat Evolved game released 10 years ago. The differences being better graphics and stronger sound effects. However we have just confirmed that Halo: Anniversary will include one new item that was not in the original Halo: Combat Evolved. 343 Industries has confirmed the inclusion of Terminals in their new game. Terminals are comic-book like items that can easily be found throughout the Halo Universe, possibly like Halo Reach’s data pads. Once a player finds one, a clip regarding the Halo Universe is briefly presented to the player. But the real catch here is that if a player were to find all Terminals, something about Halo 4 will be revealed.

Something tells me that the reveal will almost certainly pertain information regarding the story mode. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until November 15th, 2011 to see what information 343 Industries has really hidden within the game.

all the need to do is to tag each copy with a voucher for Halo 4 MP and see the money rain.

Something tells me that this will happen. EA did it with MoH (for entry into BF3 MP beta), this will prolly be the same.

the idiots who will buy a 10 year old game for full price don't need any such incentive.

Oh wise one, I wonder if the comment would have been the same had the game been a steam game....

i actually bought 20 year old games on steam. both remade completely and all that. each one better than the entire halo series combined. and they cost 10$, with crazy sales to make them cheaper down the line.

try harder next time yea?

heh, it won't be full-price. It's 40$, which seems worth looking the effort they are putting in, secondly Reach MP will sweeten the pot.

And in all likelihood, they will pack in the beta with this, which will activate next year, just like they did with ODST.

BTW, the Bungie weekly update, which came post-E3, states that they are going to stop Halo updates after the Bungie Day, disconnecting themselves from Halo. :|

The announcement for their next project will also come on the same day.

Thank god for that. Hopefully 343 will be a lot quicker to react. Bungie's managing of the playlists for Reach has been an absolute disgrace. It took them damn near half a year to throw in community made maps (and they still chuck good community maps from playlists after a month which is just f**king retarded). Took them almost a year to fix simple problems like no bubble shield in Objective types, betrayal boot in Firefight etc. And some problems are still there despite people bitching about it for months on end (no soft kill barriers in living dead).

Irony of it is that almost all of those could have been fixed in an hour. And they already had a fan made community for picking the best of Community maps. So its not even like they had a lot of work to do.

Its been quite clear that Bungie stopped giving a sh*t about Halo matchmaking pretty much at release. I just wish 343 had taken over sooner.
