Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Pre-Order Details Announced

Ten years ago Halo: Combat Evolved released around the world and as you already know Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries are celebrating the upcoming milestone with the launch of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for Xbox 360 on November 15, 2011. Of course, what would a huge launch be without pre-order incentives, which is why the following special pre-order bonuses have been announced today:

• Master Chief Avatar Armour – Heroes never die, and to honour the 10th Anniversary of John 117, you will finally be able to transform your Xbox LIVE Avatar into the iconic hero by outfitting it with Master Chief’s signature MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armour.

• “Grunt Funeral” Skull – An exclusive, game-modifying skull that changes the rules of the game for an explosively humorous experience, “Grunt Funeral” sends “Halo’s” most lowly and lovable enemy out in a blaze of glory. And plasma. And then more glory. Once the skull has been activated, every grunt’s methane tank will explode like a plasma grenade when killed. Watch out for the grunt chain reaction!

The announcement post on the game’s official site doesn’t clarify any restrictions regarding cut-off date or specific retailers, but we’ll keep you posted on that info if/when we get word.

Price 39.99$

f**king pre order bullshit. I swear its the worst thing to come up this gen along with DLC. :wallbash:

Anyway, someone on GAF did a direct comparison between the PC version and the remake -

Visuals look good enough. I just hope they don't meddle with the gameplay.

I think they already confirmed that gameplay and physics are the same. I dont think they even touched the animations.

I just hope the maps are good ones. If there is no sidewinder or Timberland I would be very f**king pissed.

I'm more worried about the support for reach once this game releases :fear:

What are you talking about?

The new maps work in Reach. Reach is getting a TU that makes HCE style gameplay possible. Whatever makes you think they are abandoning it? If anything they abandoned the HCE MP so the focus would remain on Reach.

What a randomly bizarre statement. O.o

Loving the new textures in the remake. They (343) said that the pistol is a beast; 3 headshots from anywhere in the map = gameover.

wait that's the same as the pistol from the first game. are you telling me that 10 years later they still haven't figured out how overpowered it is?

although if you think about it, the mouth breathing retards that form the halo playerbase wouldn't even know the meaning of balance either, so i guess it'll work out just fine.
