Nothing, people playing the game have a better opinion of its strengths and weaknesses.

If this was a game I was playing, then I might / might-not have a rebuttal.

You don't play (own?) Arma III ?

No. I used to play its older iterations particularly the Operation Flashpoint series (save Red River).

It is a series I would like to play if my internet connection was stabler as well as I could sync with a proper clan (which are mostly NA / UK).

The gunplay and sounds though are the high-point and I doubt any other game can give you the same feeling of connection when you place a shot on a hostile ~200 metres away with iron-sights. Red Orchestra 2 does that too.

You should try BF3.

I might just go for BattleField 4.

About the rest, I don't think any other shooter gives you the experience as the ones I mentioned, simply because of the amount of bullets you need to pump into a guy even at close range.

I thought Arma 3 was solely MP. In any case, to hear poorly of the MP component is disheartening.

The campaign will be added free of charge in bite size DLC chunks after today's release.

What is the point of this game this if even 780 cant play it on hig forget ultra?

The game is heavily CPU dependent. It's much better with high end CPUs that are overclocked. And Altis is one absolutely massive, seamless open world. Bigger than most game worlds ever made (except maybe JC2 but that game world was a software engineering marvel). It also has an incredibly complex simulation engine running that calculates physics, ballistics, scripting and what not.

That's not to absolve Bohemia from responsibility though. Their games are always buggy and performance is never quite up to the mark. It's a big shock for first time Arma customers but folks who have played the series have come to expect this.

^ But even on standard settings, the fps aren't that good (atleast on 7970).

Most people are not playing it for the frame rates or how butter smooth the animation is or how many kill streaks you have racked up or what convoluted rank has been bestowed on you because you ambushed a bunch of guys from the rear when they were unaware of you.

This is an experience in teamwork, unscripted set-pieces and how it feels to be part of a military machine. That is why I have reiterated time and time again how important it is to be part of a proper clan to get the most out of the experience..

The engine is not multi-core optimised as far as I know thus it depends solely on your CPU's single-core grunt and how high its core clock is (stock or over-clocked).

Level of detail, e.g., Rock Paper Shotgun: Bees cast shadow in ARMA III.
