spindoctor
Only reason the things that appear on screen looks good coz there is nothing else to see It's bland as boiled egg without salt Don't even dream comparing it with crysis or KZ Edit: or BF for that matter....which is miles ahead on stuff happening on screen at once You know how you get super impressed when you see two choppers and a jet and a tank on your screen at once in Battlefield? Arma can have two hundred of each of them on your screen if you want. They just don't do it because it's not that kind of game. It's a milsim not an arcade shooter. They actually strive for realism. Nah, it's better to look elsewhere. This game will own you, it's almost full simulation.
ALPHA17
I've not been following the arma series. Dies it gave sp also? Good sp? I'm not into mp that much. I get owned easily. There is a Single Player component of the game with a 'decent' story (I am extrapolating from ARMA II and Operation Flashpoint). It is considerably buggier compared to other run of the mill, linear shooters campaign mode. Most missions have a series of nested secondary objectives to achieve (these will affect the campaign and enemy disposition) and how you perform mission to mission (primary objective) would affect your experience of the campaign and its final outcome. The final fun though still lies in joining an experienced clan and playing multi-player with a microphone and the shenanigans. Overall, I would recommend this shooter over any that are launching or impending launch. MOD content is plentiful and once you are in a clan, anything is possible. Spindoctor and Vip3rvillback can give you the best perspective, although Vip3r rarely comes online any-more.

Vip3rvillback was playing it, he doesn't come online that often anymore, search for him on STEAM linked his profile. Also, Spindoctor has the game too, you can contact him as well. spindoctor
I got the same impression when I saw them. The first set of screenshots on the same page look a hell lot better. The screens you're looking at aren't even of Arma 3. They're of the DayZ mod which imports the Arma 2 island of Chernarus into Arma 3. Secondly, these maps are absolutely massive. The Arma 3 island of Altis alone is 270 square kilometres (350 sq. km if you include water which will also have playable missions). In comparison, Skyrim was determined to be around 35 sq. km. In other words, the map in Arma 3 is about 8-10 times larger than Skyrim. And it is completely seamless, no loading screens, nothing. This is why the LOD scaling is so aggressive. The screenshots on the top from the developers are probably from godlike rigs which are downsampled like crazy. What you see in the DayZ screen is some normal player actually trying to play the game. This is what Arma 3 really looks like on my low/medium spec PC The game can look far better than this, easily. If I had the hardware to push it, I'd show you. Don't judge the game from the first release of a user made mod running a 5 year old map on some average PC.

harjas
Arma III's campaign will be released as free DLC Bohemia Interactive plans on releasing Arma III's campaign in three free episodic downloadable content releases. The first episode is called Survive, and will be released within a month of the main game's actual release. The following two episodes, Adapt and Win, will come out a few months later. “This was not a decision we made lightly," project lead Joris-Jan van 't Land stated. "As game creators, we love developing and playing through campaigns so, to those awaiting ours, we say: sorry for the delay. After talking a lot about a focus on quality over the last year, it simply did not feel right to compromise now. Rather than pushing back the entire game, we launch this year with an awesome package – a splendid kick off for the Arma III experience.” I feel like most fans of the Arma series are mainly interested in the multiplayer anyway. It's certainly a smarter decision doing it like this rather than pulling a Battlefield 3 with its horribly rushed campaign. http://www.destructoid.com/arma-iii-s-campaign-will-be-released-as-free-dlc-259581.phtml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Heaven Angel
Arma 3 release date announced, leaves beta next month It may not feature a campaign any more – that’s now planned for inclusion in three separate chunks later down the line – but Arma 3′s official launch is still going to be a significant enhancement for pretend soldiers, their pretend commanders, and the very real jerks who just want to mess with people. All of them will be able to get their hands on the full game, when it leaves beta on September 12.The biggest change will be the addition of Atlis, the game’s 270 km² main island – which will join the current 20 km² Stratis. In addition, Bohemia promise: “12 singleplayer showcases, 3 faction showcases, 9 multiplayer scenarios, 10 firing drill challenges, more than 20 vehicles and 40 weapons, 5 factions, the scenario editor and modding support.” Hopefully it's optimized by then. ALPHA17
ARMA III map-size detailed and compared against other game's maps What Mořický’s comparison show us is that Altis, at least in terms of its sheer virtual size, stands alone. Even when the island map is set alongside iconic spaces like Battlefield 3′s Caspian Border, Skyrim’s frozen continent, or Grand Theft Auto 4′s Liberty City, Altis dwarfs them all. “It’s so large that most people have trouble understanding such scale in a video game,” wrote Mořický on his blog. “The surface area value is not really descriptive, and even comparing it to our previous maps (e.g., 1.5x larger than Chernarus) really explains nothing if you never played our games before.” Source: PC Gamer MOAR Sauce: Moricky.com
