finally released today. my first match -

http://steamcommunit...ilter=app_35450

you get that for the most team kills :P it's brutally hard, none of the crutches we've come to expect from modern shooters. even identifying an enemy is difficult... you have to be able to distinguish their uniforms or how they hold their guns in the hands when they run (germans run with the gun in one hand, russians with the gun held in both hands.... both authentic to history). weapon ballistics are completely accurate too... every weapon has proper bullet drop unlike any other game out there (well, except the arma milsims). huge maps, 64 players, free public dedicated servers, mod support, total conversions already in the making, free dlc maps and updates for years to come... this is a true pc fps

This game runs like dogshit.

I have UE3 games that I can run with everything turned up to the hilt. On this one frame rates dips to single digits every 5-10 seconds even on low-med. Even the sound seems to stutter randomly.

Red Orchestra 2 smashes Tripwire records

PC shooter Red Orchestra 2 has smashed publisher Tripwire Interactive's records, and made a shed load of cash.

Within two days of launch the game generated more money that its predecessor did over five years.

anyone got an idea how this game is?

it is currently up for grabs on steam for 5$? :scratchchin:

Do you love military simulators OR have experience of games like Operation Flashpoint (and enjoy it), this is that game with World War II theme.

Millitary Simulators? o.O

havent played Operation Flashpoint. Any other game would you ask please? :scratchchin:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for gun-mechanics is the closest example I can hand to you. Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising for teamplay and order system.

ARMA series for the attention to detail and theme of the game.

Apart from that the game is truly unique, I had experience of it at my brothers place and it is the most historically and technically adept WW2 shooter on the market right now.

If you are a CoD, Ek Tha Warfighter and BattleField type of gamer then I honestly suggest you skip this game, not going enjoy it you are.

Rising Storm "Banzai" community map-making competition winners announced

RisingStorm_Iwo_Flamer_001.jpg

Rising Storm developer Tripwire Interactive has announced the winners in its community map-making competition. The “Banzai” competition awarded $25,000 in prizes to its top five winners, with a cool ten grand going to Maik Dokter for the map Phosphate Plant, Dokter also snagged the $7,500 second-place prize for the Eastern Front–inspired map Myshkova River.

The maps offer a variety of locations to enjoy the chaotic violence of our 2013 Multiplayer Game of the Year, including Phosphate Plant’s burned-out industrial zone, the swampy marsh of Will Bullen’s Kobura, the muddy pits of John Chalabi’s Otori Shima, and the trap-infested jungle of Elliot Burgess’s Kita Jima.

All of the competition winners and honorable mentions are now available on the Steam Workshop, with an official future release potentially in the works.

RISING STORM: Game of The Year Edition

Tripwire Interactive and Anti Matter Games just announced Rising Storm’s Game of the Year Edition, which includes a handful of new maps, vehicles, and even a new mode.

The new map from Tripwire itself is Maggot Hill, and features a new character set: Merrill's Marauders. In addition, three new community maps have been made official: Phosphate Plant and Otori Shima for Rising Storm, and Myshkovka River for Red Orchestra 2.

The Russian and German factions each got a new transport vehicle, and three maps (Barashka, Arad 2, and Rakowice) were reconfigured to accommodate them.

10 maps were also reconfigured to support a new mode called Search & Destroy, a single life game-type in which teams take turns attempting to destroy one of multiple objectives by planting an explosive. If you already own the game, you'll get all of this new content for free, through a 8.5GB update you can download now. If you don’t, Rising Storm will be free to try later this week on Steam, where it will go on sale for a limited time.
