Harish Sangwan
Hello everyone. I have been planning to get a LCD tv for quite sometime now, a 32" actually. But I just could get around the fact that theres no proper place in my room to have a 32" screen So I have decided to settle for either a 26" screen or a monitor instead. The use will be both console gaming and watching Tv. And if convenient then I would also wanna connect my laptop to it for watching movies. Now need your help here. I was checking out some monitor to replace my current CRT Tv, which is 21", and came across the Samsung P2370MS. It has almost all the input ports that one could ask for, basically its like a Tv but in the category of monitor. But then I dint really find many reviews about its PQ and not sure how good it would be as a Tv either. I am not left confused about what to get. The mentioned 23" monitor, whose PQ is not known or a 26" Tv? Are 26" TVs any good? Screen size required: 24-26" or the mentioned 23" monitor. My budget: 15-20k. Lower the better. Viewing distance: 5-6feet Tv source: Normal cable as of now, but will be getting the local set-top-box which will have composite out. One more thing, if I go for a monitor then I might also have to invest in a pair of speakers. So do keep this in mind.

I personally dont like samsung monitors , Dell and BenQ FTW Samsung monitor looks good though also you can get Tvs in that range but they will be 720p in the 26' - 32' range and 1080p in the rest

At least THIS chart says it would. Also, how much would a decent full HD 26" TV cost?

Also, how much would a decent full HD 26" TV cost? 720p should suffice as all games in 360 or PS3 are 720p anyway and composite is 480i or SD by a decent TV i guess you mean a branded one not a chinese, taiwanese one The best i would say would be Sony Bravia KLV 26BX320 for 19800 on eBay

I did see that, but then wasnt sure if they were good or just some random models. 720p should suffice as all games in 360 or PS3 are 720p anyway and composite is 480i or SD by a decent TV i guess you mean a branded one not a chinese, taiwanese one The best i would say would be Sony Bravia KLV 26BX320 for 19800 on eBay The Sony KLV 26BX320 is HD ready and not full HD, right? I guess the only post missing on it is the Digital Audio out.
Noctis
HD Ready is more than enough for a TV of that size. And I don't think you will find digital audio out on any of these tv.
Kakarot
Hey dude.. if u planning to get the set right now.. you should check THIS These deals are ending pretty soon soo... I personally would suggest not going for any of the deals listed here as they give only dealer warranty and not manufacturer's warranty. That means all the sony bravias listed here are not going to be warranted for by SONY, but by the seller...and that might be a bit risky.
Harish Sangwan
Guys, theres a change in plan now I went to Croma, Reliance Digital and another local showroom to check out different screens. I carried my USB pen drive with Batman: The Dark Night movie in 720p format, to check the same on different TVs. I first had a look at Sony KLV 26BX320 and it looks too small to encourage me. I then shifted my sight to 32" LCD TVs and it looked better and the size seemed appropriate as well. But it dint end there I then started checking out the 32" LEDs and they looked sexy. I was soon comparing the LG 32LE4610 and Samsung 32D5000. Both are Full HD LED screens. The LG model costing 34500/- and Samsung costing 40500/- I have decided to go either one of these two Now help me decide between these two guys. I feel LG is more value for money and its PQ is as good as the Samsung LED or maybe even better. -Both have similar no. of inputs and outputs. LG has 3HDMI and Samsung has 4HDMI. LG has 1 USB and Samsung has 2. Samsung has a LAN port and LG doesnt. -LG is suppose to have IPS panel and hence wider viewing angle and I found it to have lesser reflections too. -Samsung looked slimmer than LG and also better looking. EDIT: I forgot to have a look at their remote controller, which I feel is a important factor too. What do you guys think? Is there something that I am missing? Which is a better buy? Main advantage of Samsung is its looks. But is it worth that extra 6k?
Kakarot
I would definitely suggest the LG because afaik they have an AMC (i think it stands fr Annual Maintenance Contract) i.e you pay some meager amount (1000 or 2000rs) per year after your warranty expires to avail another year of complete cover warranty. ( i dunno how many years you can do this though) I know this because recently i was in the same dilemma while choosing between a lg 3d tv and a Samsung led 42" ...though i went for the latter, i now think LG would've been a better choice considering the amc thing. So all in all: If you want looks and TV life for minimum 3 years i would suggest you go for Samsung! (yeah my last 2 Samsung TVs lasted for 3 years each without any trouble! weren't LCDs though.) If you want carefree usage and peace of mind after having invested a huge amount in your LED TV i would suggest LG Hope this helps ! (The samsung and LG remotes for the LCDs are quite similar so no problemo there )
