SRINI87
The digital distribution wars just got personal for EA: they’ve pulled Crysis 2 from the Steam store. It’s now available on the company’s Origin service, labeled as an exclusive offering. Despite this, as of writing, the title is still available on Direct2Drive, Impulse, and GamersGate. However, it’s possible that EA is still in the process of cutting ties with other services. While the jury is still out on whether this exclusivity will apply to all of EA’s digital offerings going forward, it’s a likely bet, as BioWare recently confirmed that its upcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic will be an Origin exclusive. Moreover, today’s release of Alice: Madness Returns is nowhere to be found on Steam. source

Noctis
Whats the problem with this move? I don't see why EA would want to pay a considerable amount to steam for distributing their content when they can sell it themselves.

I wonder if EA will follow the same policy with BF3 and ME3.
jk..
aggressive move theor.. well if they want to go on head to head with Steam then they have to make their games exclusiv to Origin otherwise people wll stick to Steam
Right
Ya, why to give 30% to valve, when they can do it on their own. But they could have worked out a deal with valve, ea publishes their retail eds afterall.
Sackboy
They can just charge 30% extra on steam

CarbonCore
So is it cheaper now than when it was removed from Steam? If not then this is total dick move by EA.
Right
Why should they make it cheaper? They moved it off the Steam cuz they were missing that 30%.
Aftrunner
Whats the problem with this move? I don't see why EA would want to pay a considerable amount to steam for distributing their content when they can sell it themselves. Yeah pretty much this. I dont see whats the problem. Its not like Valve are rushing in to put their games on non-steam services. And its not like Valve games are 30% cheaper since they use their own service, so why should EA's games be different? EA have all the right in the world to do this. Oh and you know what, Origin has regional pricing. Battlefield 3 PC version (and Mass effect 3) is up for pre order there for 999 Rs. Beats buying on Steam. I would think most of you would love this change.
Ne0
^^ If regional pricing then +1 to this. Finally some reason to get away from the crappy "GB patch steam service" !
Sackboy
If it's regional pricing then won't US guys buy from Indian store ?
