icestrok
guys should I opt for a gaming headset or buy one meant for music and get the attachment mentioned by Ethan above for mic, for my ps4. Thing is, I need to an over the ear headset to compliment my music needs with the kilpsch in ears that I currently own. What do you recommend? ALPHA17
^ Get a set that is compatible with the PlayStation 4 instead of purchasing a generic music oriented one and realising it is incompatible.

NitroNeo
Thinking of changing the headset for my phone, so which type of headset should i go for the in-ear ones or the one's that fully cover the ear, i would prefer the one's which don't do any damage to hearing. If i go for Over the ear headphones i need them with call receiving function [mic whatever it's called] for my note 3, it would be great if they could be used for gaming too, i found these but in one video review a kid was using them & they seemed small http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Silver-Mobile-Headset/dp/B00726ARLW/ref=sr_1_25?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1410030505&sr=1-
ALPHA17
^ Try to bag the Xiaomi Pistons, covers all that is required in your needs. In-ear monitors / canalphones which completely seal you off from outside noise are actually better than getting headphones which provide minimal or low level noise insulation and force you to crank the volume up to make anything audible. If you are insistent on getting an over the ear headset, look at the Koss Porta Pro's. They lack the phone controller though.

I use Philips Fidelio L1/28 which comes with detachable cable, one of which has in-line mic which works great for chat. ^ Get a set that is compatible with the PlayStation 4 instead of purchasing a generic music oriented one and realising it is incompatible. No such thing as incompatible with PS4 if it has standard 3.5mm jack. Practically everything I tried with it worked.

Do those sound better than the iphone ones because those are the best headphones i heard till date. Though i know the over the ear ones will be better. ALPHA17
Do those sound better than the iphone ones because those are the best headphones i heard till date. Though i know the over the ear ones will be better. I have never used the Apple earpods but suffice to say, like all things Apple, they ride a pretty strong hype train and bias. These might not sound as good because sound is a rather subjective topic, you cannot quantify it and give it a score vis-á-vis something else which sounds 'better'. Which again is relative to your aural biases. If you can invest in something similar in the budget range of the Earpods, you open an avenue of options that may or may not match up to their impressions on you. Also, no sound isolation on the Apple Earpods. So that is that. Here is a rather analytical look at the Apple Earpod's by a Joker. One of the best guys on the interwebz who knows his way around such stuff.

I have been using Klipsch S4i with iDevices, exceptional sound quality for what you pay and massive upgrade over Apple buds (which are trash btw). You're not going to get active noise cancelling in in-ear plugs, but S4i does pretty good job of isolating it thanks to gel plugs and oval shape. A seperate microphone would be needed for VoIP in-game. Ideally, the following IEM's might be to your taste, SoundMAGIC E10 (get the E10M version if you need a microphone and volume in-line control) SoundMAGIC E30 (get the E30M version if you need a microphone and volume in-line control) BRAINWAVZ M1 / M2 / M4 (out of these only the M4 feature a in-line control variant) V.SONIC GR02 Bass Edition V.SONIC GR06 BRAINWAVZ R1 (has a separate in-line control variant) Invest in Comply foam tips after getting a pair and your isolation problems should be more or less solved.
