playstation
so acc. to u, ax pro is waste of monies? Just a personal opinion pushy If you've got the money, nobody's stopping you from buying a potty made of gold. I just feel unless you're in the pro circuit or making money through gaming, it doesn't make fiscal sense for a casual gamer. Like I said, just a personal opinion. To each his own. in that case even HDTv is a waste of money only coz a game can play game on sdtv also....i understand these are expensive stuffs but they do enhance experience also....and people spent money only to get most in life only ....coz even today my ps2 is enough for me..hell i have more games to complete on ps2 than ps3 and man they all AAAA game waiting to be finished...main reasons to get these headphones are also night time gaming...most people end up playing in the night only....and they want to have as much better experience as possible. @rahul: i agree with u. which is why i hv set 3k as limit for headsets. I am awaiting for more reviews frm users of ivg abt CP-Pro. I want to go for Turtle Beach as well, but they arent' available in India. well if you already ready to spent 3k(which is not a less amount in itself) would you not wish to buy something even better for more money after all one also does not spent everytime on these....just my opinion.... I want to but quality sets are not available in india and i am somewhat reluctant on importing stuff which cost more and still dont hv warranty in india. I thought of buying tritton headsets from CC as well, but then that warranty thing kept me away from it. Coz if they go kaput, then all monies in vain. If turtle beach/tritton warranty was covered in india, i would hv definitely given a thought to buy them.
piper
@Paa, Puhsy, PS : I'm also thinking of getting a gaming headset and the cp-pro seems the right choice considering its price vs. features comparison. Else it'll be that el cheapo USB sound card + el cheapo headset + desktop speakers for game audio.
Pushy
main reasons to get these headphones are also night time gaming...most people end up playing in the night only....and they want to have as much better experience as possible. this, bloody this. and it's not that i will be buying another headset in near future after buying the titon's. and 720> pro ok, reason being? also, if i send them headfones back to USA, i will get a replacement, yes(provided if it's in the warranty period) ??? Well duh! People buy headphones for night time gaming.. And like I said, if you have the money nobody is trying to stop you from buying anything. I was just expressing my personal opinion that something like Turtle Beach x11 should suffice for non-audiophiles. If you have Tritton's and loan it to me, I might be convinced otherwise.. J/K bro.. was giving my 2 cents that's all. I'm not rich enough to get Tritton's. Well not yet at least. When I was shopping for gaming headsets, trust me, Tritton's and Astro's were in my sight. But I wasn't able to afford it back then and now. After using the x11's, I was more or less convinced that was enough for me. Perhaps it was the effect of me moving from the 2 channel iPod earphones. Who knows, if I get to use a pair of Tritton's now after using the x11's, I might switch too!

If you're not an audiophile and you cannot increase your budget, just get the CP Pro itself. There's a thin line between WANT and NEED. If you can afford the Tritton's, by all means go ahead with that. I've heard good things about it from a long time. Users here don't recommend stuff on a whim. Users here don't recommend stuff on a whim. The issue is not abt affordability, I hv ample cash to get any pro headset but as I mentioned I m reluctant to buy headset with high cost n still no warranty. Also I feel I game mostly to chat with my pals in mp sessions. I don't care that much abt tiniest of sounds in-game. Can live without it. I would hv bought cp pro but some ppl said that its Mic is slightly low on sound. I'm not sure though. Just read reviews.
Noctis
Paji, then check out Sennheiser. I was worried about the same thing, so bought a hd598 from a local shop. They have dealers and support centres all around India and provides a 2 year warranty.
Parvinder Singh
Does it support in-game sound plus voice chat also? Will check it surely tmrw morning. Typing from mobile currently. Thx noct.
Noctis
I bought mine mainly to listen to music, so no mic with it. But they have headsets too, and you could probably test it before buying at a showroom (should be there in gugaon/delhi).

piper
Even I've read that the CP-PRO mic level is a bit low. Anyone on IVG owns one? Also, the hd598 mentioned in the last few posts retails at Flipkart for 12,990. Way too expensive considering the budget for Paa and myself is 2-3k. Query : If we use any generic bluetooth headset with mic and pair it with the PS3, do we get in-game sound also? And most bluetooth sets are compatible AFAIK. Because a particular Chinese made bluetooth set has always caught my eye : Bluedio AV890, selling for pretty cheap on eBay. It supports any headphones/earphones to be connected (and I've got a good Philips one) so was wondering if the mic will also be compatible. I have Philips SBC HP800 headphones, bought for 1.4k 6 years back. The sound is pretty amazing not only for music/movies but even for games like CS:Source where even echo sounds of some weapons can be heard. That's why I like the idea of using a generic USB/bluetooth connector and plugging in my own heaphones + regular PC mic .

It was a not a recommendation, I just mentioned my purchase and good experience with them since you were concerned about their service quality. Sens have a large range of gaming headset's with mic, so you could check out some of them and see if any fits your needs.

Sa1nT_SoLd1eR
Has anyone tried the below mentioned one's ? http://www.primeabgb.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=4034&category_id=418&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=999 9 feet of cable, retractable, flexible MIC, XL size ear cups, cloth padded, Soundcape etc etc. It seems like a good option for sub 3k budget and reviews seem to be good as well for the headset. piper
@Saint : Those headphones sound nice. 3.5 mm connectors so using with PS3 a wee bit of an issue.
