Also gives you a general idea of what you want out of a guitar. I don't really think that making a purchase like an electric will all fall into a 4K range if you don't have an amp already unless you do? The problem when you talk about changing the body is that it involves more work to make the sound come out right and that means that pickups are better or have to be reinforced to get the sound back unilaterally across the solid body surface. So step into a store and see what they have to offer and you might be more surprised than shopping online. GL and let us know how it goes.
