I've seen instances where WWE wrestlers will go to a competing company but will take their brand with them too. Some want full rights to their name or character and are able to negotiate it. But most characters are created by wwe creative so they own the rights. Big Boss Posted September 22, 2021 Report Share Posted September 22, 2021 @dylanjoshone hilariously bad example of WWE misusing the characters they own is when they re-introduced Diesel and Razor Ramon characters during Attitude era, as the wrestlers Kevin Nash and Scott Hall who portrayed these characters originally had left for WCW.
