~The TV Shows Thread~

One of the many good things about TLOU is the linear storytelling. There are no stupid flashbacks in episodes. If the episode is about past, it will follow the complete story rather than jumping back and forth which many tv shows do. The protagonists also remain constant for majority of the episode. They don't have parallel storylines ongoing. More shows need to do this. The days of Lost and Prison break are all over ffs.

But all episodes start with a flashback. Lost did this too, sometimes in the middle of the episode.

No it just jumped directly. Since it has too many characters, the switching in protagonists or perspectives is okay. This show had lot of potential to do unnecessary flashbacks and prolong the narrative but gladly they didn't.

Not all episodes.

Another thing which I am loving is the game mechanics that they have incorporated in the show. Using ramps/logs to cross from one building to the other. Joel boosting Ellie to reach high places. The camera angles also in so many shots replicate the game camera angles.

Saw couple episodes of Farzi. Turned out to be a fun watch especially character banters have been done nicely. Also holy sh*t at the cuss words in this ? especially those between the minister and Sethupathi. They are coarser than what is usually the norm in OTT’s. Also impressed with Sethupathi’s hindi delivery. Looking forward to the rest.

Tlou ep 5 - 9/10

1 point deducted for Ellie dialogues falling flat right. Bella Ramsey continuing to be the weakest link in a solid show imo. That gay magazine scene just fell flat. Ashley Johnson has a magical voice and god-tier dialogue delivery

If there's anything I'd deduct points its the very plot-convenient infected appearance

Tbh they did foreshadow it in the last episode when the beard guy told Kathleen to priorities the underground tunnel problem (instead of chasing Henry).

Plus notice how all the infected coming out were clickers? They supposedly track and follow the noise coming from top like heavy vehicles driving around and smashing cars.

Disagree. The scared sound she made when Henry **You know what** himself was freaking fantastic! Easily the most natural moment for Ellie and it wasn't even in the game! Listen to that again, it just added a lot to the experience.

@dylanjosh - They did teased it up in this episode and last episode. It happened in the game too.
