^^ Season 96 - man from the future is here.

I thought the explanation given by Jacob was fine -

it's turning out to be more supernatural.

MAJOR SPOILER TILL EPISODE 9

Here's what I think. Jacob and the Man in Black play out the eternal struggle between God and Devil for a man's soul. Man in Black tempts people and Jacob can't directly interfere but has faith in humans. He knows that the Man in Black has found a loophole with John Locke, and this cycle really starts with Richard getting to the island. I guess finally it will come down to Hugo and Jack to replace Jacob. My bets are on Hugo. The Man in Black will continue to exist.

From Lostpedia.

When Sayid is about to

pull those wires Jack tells him how they've done exactly what "Locke" wanted: Just as "Locke" had said of Widmore, "He wanted to get us all in the same place at the same time. A nice enclosed space where we had no hope of getting out of." He explains that "Locke" has been saying he can't leave the Island without them but what is really the case is that he can't leave the island unless they are all dead. Jack surmises that "Locke" cannot kill them directly and is trying to get them to kill each other by pulling the wires from the C4.

Interesting theory which is probably true because

Smokey has always tried to lure the candidates into traps

. Back in the first season

when Jack sees and later follows his father, he slips and is about to fall down from a cliff when Locke (original) saves him

.

Later, in the second season,

Hurley sees Dave, the bald dude who is supposedly an imaginary friend, on the island. Dave tries to convince Hurley that this is all happening in his head and the only way it can be stopped is by waking himself from the catatonic state by jumping down the cliff and he almost succeeds

.

Guess we'll find out more in the next episode. It's

MIB and Jacob

centric and is all about

the history of the island

.

Plot summary from ABC:

The motives of the Man in Black (Titus Welliver/Terry O'Quinn) are finally explained, along with his tumultuous history on the Island with Jacob (Mark Pellegrino)

.

Aight, I will give season 2 a shot.

All this recent Alan Wake talk piqued my interest in Twin Peaks so ended up watching the first season. Its pretty good though slow at times. It has some really quirky characters and a big murder mystery that unfolds at a languid pace. Thumbs up.

I liked the latest episode of Lost. Going to be interesting to see what the MIB does next :good:

Btw, don't you guys think that it was totally weird seeing

Sun and Jin talking to each other in English. I mean if they would be meeting each other after such a long time, shouldn't they be talking in Korean, their native language

Also couldn't understand why

Sayeed helped the other people by sacrificing his life. I mean wasn't he with MIB as the latter had saved his life?
