~The TV Shows Thread~

The quality of writing in Heroes - Season 2 is far far below that of Season 1. Its as if Tim Kring put all of his effort into one storyline. When it became a hit, he had no idea what to do so he rented a sailboat and is now floating somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean while paid-by-the-hour writers are churning out drivel to pad up Season 2.

But yeah, I havent seen the latest episode yet.

MT...looks like u havent seen the last eppy...

there were some new twists regarding the main plot....a new character has come who is supposed to be the starter of all the troubles....

basically, as normal serials (prison break, lost, etc), the plot is getting stretched a bit, and u may get bored with it...but keep in mind tht tv shows are meant to be a bit draggy....specially the ones in the drama genre....coz in comedies, u can have many eppys not totally related to each other, but drama has to be a real long story....so, overall, i still think heroes is damn good...

I'm actually bored of PB now....se03 is not at all interesting to me....same ol' stuff, the all brilliant micahel scofield to the rescue :sleep3:

lol....but s03 is moving much faster than 1 or 2....if this IS the last season (like rumors are pointing to), then they must get out of sona and live a happy life by the end of it....which means lot of things will be answered and soon....thts the hope thts making me watch s03..

season 1 was awesome....season 2 and 3 are watchable but nothing special.....prison break should end when u break out of prison...any attempt to draw out the series beyond that is gonna suck...i was watching the great escape yesterday (great movie) and it got me thinking...they should have had some failed break out attempts....then they could have been caught and put in solitary confinement or under tighter security so the odds are further stacked against them...that could have drawn out the breakout longer

peace

Even in se01, the escape fails once, and for some time, both the bros are put in solitary as well....se01 ended very well, and se02 was was also good till the last eppy where they brought in Sona and all that nonsense....it should have ended with scofield, sarah and burrows going off to panama ! And the secret agent killing william kim ! Instead they are going back to square 1 with the same stuff - only in a diff prison !

u cant compare series to movies...the whole concept is very diff....in serials, sometimes even the writers dont know how to progress...and end up putting weird eppys in between...u can see loads of such examples in LOST and southpark....many eppys were totally mindless and useless to the plot....!!

Star Trek Season One HD DVD Reviewed, New CG Spaceships and All

From Gizmodo

_______________________________________________________________________

As any hardcore fan of the Trek series will tell you, the smallest adjustments made to the originals are bound to undergo a tremendous amount of scrutiny. That having been said, the first reviews of the new HD DVD release of Star Trek have become available—and by the looks of things there is a lot to like, and a few things that will surely piss off more than a few fanboys—namely redesigned visual effects involving the show intro and the Enterprise.

trek_season1.jpg

According to both IGN and HD Disk news, the remastered video and audio is decent, but expect to see some artifacts and noise in certain areas. However, with dated material such as this that should be expected. The real interesting news is that the developers also attempted to blend in newly rendered CG shots of the shows visual effects—like external shots of the Enterprise for example. As you might imagine, these scenes tend to look out of place alongside the older footage.

On the plus side, there are plenty of extras to keep fans happy, like picture-in-picture video commentaries, a documentary outlining the new visual effects, an interactive 3D Enterprise tour that allows viewers to completely explore the inner and outer workings of the ship, as well "Blackburn's Treasure Chest: Rare Home Movies and Special Memories" chronicling the experiences of a regular extra on the set.

All-in-all it appears that the Trek HD DVD is a worthwhile pickup if you already own a player. However, others may want to wait until a clear winner is chosen in the format wars—because there will surely be other Trek HD upgrades in the future.

I would buy this for the case alone :(
