Aftrunner Posted April 19, 2011 Report Share Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) Finally got around to seeing the first episode of GOT. Holy sh*t. Absolutely brilliant! Casting is perfect and the script was spot on. And I loved the fact that in the opening credits each actor is credited with a symbol of his house. Nice attention to details. I haven't read the book, after 30 mins in to the pilot, I feel like I should read the book first. What do you guys say ? My only fear is the length. How many books are there in the series - 4/5 ? How many books are there in the series - 4/5 ? the story is incomplete. 4 novels right now, the 5th one is coming in july. there will be more after that. don't worry about the story though... the series is named after the first book, and the first season will probably not go beyond the story contained in it. spindoctor Posted April 20, 2011 Report Share Posted April 20, 2011 it's very true to the book but of course, it can't be as elaborate. there is a lot of nuance and description that the show missed in comparison to a book but the fact is, it's about as good as a tv adaptation can get. if you want to go deeper into the story, get the books.
