achilles
So..had a genuine laugh in Engourage after pretty long. "Hello..hello.." Still don't like the Ekta Kapoorish-ness.
Man In The Box
Done with the 3rd season of Dexter as well. I actually found this season to be very good. Loved the Dexter and Miguel Prado fiasco and all the episodes. Heard Season 4 is even better ! Will watch that soon.
Ne0
^^ Season 4 starts slow, but the season finale is one of the best episodes made on TV. BTW, finished watching full season one of Modern Family. Damn hilarious show. I think one of the best sitcoms around today.
dylanjosh
Hmm I didn't think it was slow. The pace was more or less consistent throughout
spindoctor
dexter gets rather boring the moment you realize that he's in perpetual god mode.

Ne0
Better than Sheldon. Cooper? If you are referring to BBT, sorry pal, I'm not into that show at all. I watched a couple of episodes and never got back to it. Not the kind of humor I like. Edited August 15, 2011 by Ne0

spindoctor
Better than Sheldon. Cooper? the big bang theory has gotten stale over the last couple of seasons. i'd definitely rate modern family higher right now.
KWC
dexter gets rather boring the moment you realize that he's in perpetual god mode. aren't all protagonists?
spindoctor
aren't all protagonists? you should watch game of thrones and you'd change your tune seriously though, you're right of course. the thing is, it works in a procedural show, but not so much in a serial show like dexter. they end every episode with a fake cliffhanger in which they show dexter about to get caught or leaving behind some evidence or making some other mistake but it's not really a cliffhanger because you already know he's going to get away with it. no matter what happens in an episode, he can't get caught, he's invincible so any time there is a plot line that puts in him in danger, you already know the outcome. it was okay in the first couple of years but after 5-6 seasons they're just stringing the viewers along. besides, it's supposed to be 'dexter', a show about a calculating, emotionless, vigilante serial killer, not 'dexter and friends' where they explore family drama and the love lives of peripheral characters and all those unrelated and stupid stories. i mean for example the romance, marriage and ultimate divorce of batista and la'guerta... did anyone ever give a f**k about that? every single frame of that entire relationship was wasted and should have been on some soap, not a thriller like this. dexter is still fun to watch but it no longer holds claim to being the best tv around. not by a long shot. theneurotoxin
Speaking of sitcoms, Curb season 8 has been pretty pretty pretty pretty good.
spindoctor
i don't understand why they've been dicking around in los angeles in curb. the whole motif of the season was that it would be in new york, and they're using up 4 out of 10 episodes just setting up why he goes there :|

This I agree, even I hate all those filler stuff with debra or laguerta. Which is one of the main reasons why I liked season 5 more. It has got relatively lot lesser filler content compared to the previous seasons. Also, the story is taking a turn now (since season 5), with Dexter wanting to change himself, explore his other side, get rid of his dark passenger. I think the further episodes will focus more on his transformation to being a normal person just like everyone else. Overall, I would still rate Dexter as one of the best shows on TV. I enjoyed all the seasons to date. Very few shows are this consistent.
