~The TV Shows Thread~

Very poor writing. The whole show is sex joke after sex joke after sex joke. That's like, scraping the bottom of the barrel for a writer.

The format of each ep is pretty much the same:

Charlie f**ks some broad and makes jokes about how awesome and rich he is

The brother feels sorry for himself

The maid with her tasteless one-liners

The kid with his sexual innuendos

Not to mention Charlie isn't really acting, is he? He's just playing himself.

However if you do enjoy it, then my post shouldn't bother you at all. Go ahead and watch it. :good:

Hmm, some good points there. Now that you did mention those 5 points, I do agree that most of the episodes revolve around the same lines. But I particularly found Season 3 very good as it has some continuity like that dancer chick whom Charlie actually liked and Alan and Cindy ( that dumb yet hot blonde chick ). The rest of the seasons are pretty random but I still find it funny usually :P.

Apparently, the actual awards ceremony was really pathetic. I didn't get to see it as it was telecast pretty early today morning in India.

Modern Family has won three other Emmys too.Definitely the best comedy show running currently. :)

Actually four more. Total of five : outstanding comedy series (again), as well as best supporting actor and actress, best directing and best writing.

is Modern Family good ?

Its pretty good (won Comedy series back to back for its first two seasons).

Doesn't seem that funny if you read about the concept but start watching and you'll realise its some really really neat shtick.
