gooner4life
it would be the perfect end to the season. it's got potential to be one of the best ever sequences on TV. Don't think Season 2 can go that far... I read book 3 would be expanded into 2 seasons(3 & 4)...

spindoctor
after watching game of thrones, i think it would be wise to temper expectations from this season. it's still top notch tv but the fact is, book 2 of the series really isn't spectacular. not like book 1 was anyway. dylanjosh
I liked the first episode. Pretty good. This time my fav characters are Aria, Robb and, of course, Tyrion.

I heard that 5 is even worse...
gooner4life
done thru reading books 2& 3 and half way through the 4th one. 3 is the best of all and 4 so far is...quite boring. I heard that 5 is even worse... Book 3 is just too good.. I have read till book 4 and it took me around 6 months to complete 4th(Its that boring) while it took a month to complete 2 & 3 combined... I have high expectations from 5th book(which I have just started reading), please don't say it even worse! And book 5 is even longer than book 3 and I know of 1-2 spoilers which were quite mindblowing, so I don't know how it can be boring.. Book 4 became boring becoz some of the POV characters were not at all mentioned in it(like Daenerys).. gooner4life
Just watched Got Season 2 first episode.. It was quite good but is it just me or was it going too fast for people who haven't read the books? I mean the scene at Dragonstone with Melisandre and Stannis, I don't think anyone who hasn't read the books grasped what was happening.. theneurotoxin
A bit top heavy week having Mad Men and GoT on a Monday. Loved both the episodes.

Bulovski
Season 2 GOT First episode is underwhelming. But then again - this is book 2 - which is absolute rubbish.

I mean the scene at Dragonstone with Melisandre and Stannis, I don't think anyone who hasn't read the books grasped what was happening.. well you could say the same for the first season as well. the first scene they go out of the wall and meet the white walkers. then you have this lord beheading a guy in front of his kids for some reason. it won't be immediately obvious what is happening for someone who hasn't read the books. hell, my buddy finished the entire first season and still didn't understand the white walkers. this kind of top heavy exposition is unavoidable with a show like this. hopefully the character development is consistent and well written so that people start to understand stannis and melisandre in time. Season 2 GOT First episode is underwhelming. But then again - this is book 2 - which is absolute rubbish. absolute rubbish? i wouldn't go that far. but yea, it's the book where they really dig in for the long haul in terms of story telling. it won't be as exciting as book 1. theneurotoxin
Haven't rewatched season 1 recently but I thought yesterday's episode was definitely a step up visually. Personally, the politics at King's Landing in CoTK is one of my favourite parts of the series so I don't get the hate for that book.
Bulovski
The politics was decent but it's not like that's going to come through so well for the TnA crowd.
Aftrunner
Yeah I loved book 2. Arya chapters alone make it a great read. Anyway, saw the first episode. Direwolves looked great. And saw MM episode 3 too. Fat Betty! \o/
