Guys any Castle like series?

Wife loved it and it became our dinner time serial to watch. Now that we have finally completed it looking for something like that.

Even a Mad Men kind of thing.

lead pair chemistry, maybe mystery/ thriller (and basically not overly male testosterone inducing)

the listener

^^ true, first peggy's departure from SCDP and then pryce's death .... wonder if they are planning some kind of cost cutting at the production house !

I was still fine with Peggy leaving, that episode was excellent overall, but the Lane Pryce suicide build build up wasn't adequately handled. It just didn't feel natural. Especially with the wife buying him a Jaguar and leaving him in a smaller corner bit.

For a series that is all about spiritual death, it didn't handle physical death too well. And I don't think that was the point.

Still, best season of the show. Easily.

Loved the part where they made even Betty seem human.

Finished the first few episodes of the 4th season of The Wire. Cannot stop watching it for a bit. Insane stuff.

MAJOR SPOILERS. DO NOT READ IN ANY CASE IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE FIRST THREE SEASONS YET.

STRINGER IS NO MORE. WHY? WHY? WHY?

Considering the run Mad Men has had this season, the finale was a bit underwhelming. Don's arc ended on an interesting note, though.

It was missing some explosions but I think they spent their quota of those pre finale.

On the bright side, the finale had some amazing cinematography. Don walking away from the "dollhouse" at the end was a brilliant shot, went well with the James Bond song. The entire scene at the bar. And that look he gives when he is asked the question at the end. All phenomenal. Even the shot of the partners in the empty floor was great (although a bit contrived).

Megan's character went into a bit of a nosedive. She started off as a strong, smart, independent woman and ends up as this person who has to ask her husband to get her career started and then whines and pouts when he refuses. It was well played out though and it didnt feel forced. Boardwalk empire could learn a thing or two.

Edit Is it me or is Pete going bald??

Also Alexis Bledel.

Nah, it's been a sub-plot throughout this season. Jane comments on the same at Don's birthday party.

The downward slide of Megan made that final sequence all the more special — Don is back at square one with another Betty in a dollhouse on his hands. Oh, and Jessica Paré should keep her mouth shut. She looked great in the black & white reel.
