oh plz gimme a break. Rome is good but not that good. Tons of better shows out there.

Firefly on the other hand is pure awesomeness.

Opinions differ. For me Rome and Generation Kill are the only 2 shows which I've bothered seeing twice. Rome for it's exceptional sets, politics and drama. Not to mention the leading figures are portrayed brilliantly and their acting is absolutely top notch.

Firefly isn't pure awesomeness. The show has TONS of totally idiotic moments, but it works for me due to the simplicity of the storyline, likeable characters and the 2000s nostalgia. Reminds me of Different Strokes, Bewitched etc. Lighthearted and fun to watch.

Oh ok. So I guess simplicity and cohesiveness are boring. What an awesome show should have is a complex plot, intertwined arcs and lots of plot holes.

Right.

Do you have problems in comprehension or you just want to prove your point ?

I just get a bit riled up when someone says anything bad about Firefly :bigyellowgrin:/>

Never said Firefly is bad.

You've to agree the show definitely has some really idiotic moments, but it works. I liked it because it took me back to the time when shows weren't too serious about "reality", you needn't need to know geek words to have fun, professors were not cooking meth and missing an episode didn't mean you had to rewatch the entire season again. As I said, lighthearted and fun. And Kaylee is just so adorable.

But I urge you to re-watch Rome on as large a screen as possible. The sets, costumes, ambiance, dialogues, everything is top notch. And the actors really bring out the maximum in their characters. They carry it effortlessly and confidently. To me, it just a gorgeous show. Something I will keep on visiting again and again. I think I've a thing for period dramas.

Thanks.

Season 2 was good. That scene when SAMCRO beats the sh*t out of League of American Nationalist (10 vs 10, No guns) B) Like a boss

Firefly is awesome! One of my favorite :D They should bring it back with awesome CGI, maybe then people will realize how good the show is.

CGI was/is good, even by today's standard. Terra Nova had worse effects. :P

I think the whole charm of the series will go if it's remade today. It's in the same vein as Swat Kats, Powerpuff Girls etc. The whole pull lies in late 90s/early 2000s. That's what we're missing and that's what we enjoy.

I still feel that the bald guy's death should have been more painful. He should have begged for it. They could have hired Dexter for that :P

Goddamn Homeland. Where the f**k is the show going? It literally had a scene where Abu Nazir chases Carrie around in a dungeon-like basement with a knife. Straight to the top of the most idiotic tv watching moments of the year.

my guess for next week is:

Brodie is going to become the leader of whatever nameless terrorist cell Abu Nazir was running, or we are going to see Carrie and Brodie on the run for the next season.

Finished watching the two seasons of Better Off Ted yesterday. Splendid stuff, why do genuinely hilarious shows like this get cancelled while sh*t series drag on :ack:

Portia De Rossi really did an outstanding job with a fantastic character.

Since Homeland and Dexter are ending soon, and Walking dead is already on a break, If people are looking for a good new show to watch may I suggest

Showtime new show by Oliver Stone, Untold history of the United States. It is documentary-ish, but I find it fascinating. Extremely well done.

S04 completed. And wtf, back to square one, are we? It wasn’t exactly a satisfying ending to a fantastic season. So anti-climatic. Overall yes, a good season. that scene of opie riding back to clubhouse (after finding about clay killing piney) was so boss :gunsmilie: Wonder what he's upto now. And god damn yes so satisfying to see clay get shot twice. One more wud have done it!! And wtf is with Teller's a*s shots every season. Pervert sutter.

‘Arrested Development’ Season 4 Gets More Episodes

Good news for Arrested Development fans. The new season of the cult Mitch Hurwitz comedy commissioned by Netflix will be larger than originally planned. I’ve learned that, during production on the 10 new episodes ordered by Netflix, Hurwitz shot more material than planned and also came up with ideas for additional scenes and storylines. Hurwitz, producing studio 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine TV approached Netflix, which agreed to expand the order to what I hear will be 12-15 episodes. As a result, production on the show, originally slated to wrap right after Thanksgiving, was extended for a few more weeks. But, given the complexity of adding material as you go on a show where none of the actors are in first position so filming has to be done around their existing schedules, I hear 20th TV at the end of last week decided to pause production so Hurwitz can review the footage already in the can and take his time figuring out the best way to incorporate the new arcs into the show. Once he is done, the studio will begin working on securing the actors needed. Filming is tentatively slated to resume in late January. The producers have some breathing room as Netflix is targeting a spring premiere date for Arrested Development when it plans to make all episodes available at the same time.

“We are thrilled with the direction of the show, with the footage we have seen and with the relationship between Mitch, Imagine, 20th and Netflix,” a Netflix spokeswoman said. “At this time, we are not confirming or announcing the final episode count but we are sure fans will be thrilled when we do.”
