zen Posted March 4, 2013 Report Share Posted March 4, 2013 Done with house of cards .... sad really that it ended .... one of the biggest surprises of the year with some awesome writing and performances throughout the season....can't wait for season 2 to begin .... Started out nice, and it had one really good episode, the back to university ep in the middle. But the one big moment in ep 11 really soured the show for me. I just couldn't buy that the character we were seeing so far would do that. that improbable moment brought the whole house of cards down for me, so to speak. I agree, that was a little far fetched .... i was secretly hoping it wouldn't come to that .... but then again, i guess, it was out of desperation / ambition, like the prize was inches away from Frank , maybe he slipped a bit ? But if you think about it, IMO, the bigger blunder in writing was the part where Frank sends russo in the beginning to that crackpot's house to get the statement on kern i mean which congressman would risk doing such a risky business all by himself ? It was almost as if he was an acting henchman for Frank. And why would Frank risk sending a congressman to do such low level stuff ? He could have easily found some one else. Anyway, caught up to the newest episode of the Walking dead. I like that its really quite different from the GN cause it keeps me guessing most of the times. Gotta say though, the gore in the Walking dead is absolutely ridiculous. It still blows my mind that they can show what they show and yet cannot have boobs on the screen. Absolutely ridiculous. I really enjoyed the season 1-2 (one of my favorite TV series), but after that, I slowly started losing interest and season 4 was lame..too much religious stuff..What God has to do with sci-fi? OT: Fox picked up New Girl for 3rd season, The Following for 2nd season. I find New Girl bit boring..(Zoey is cool, but her singing and jokes are annoying) The Following, great start..but I'm confused a bit on how they'll end season 1. But even beyond killing a sympathetic character, it just seems so stupid and unlikely a thing to do. I would have believed it more if he had talked him into a suicide, thats the sort of character frank was shown to be, manipulative but keeping any real danger, or violence at an arms length. On the other hand, Arrow 's latest episode was frigging cool (except for the part where he reveals himself to his friend).... with the way he's going on about revelaing his true identity to everyone, he might as well broadcast on some TV channel proclaiming himself to be the new Arrow ! Maybe it's because they are constrained to follow the threads of history in the final season. There's no drama if the outcome is already known. The storylines they are following outside the main plot aren't very good either. And the show is missing the great characters they had in the past (Batiatus, Ashur etc.).
