The characters, situations and performances keeps you involved episode to episode. Try it . ( note for All NSFW thread fans: Lots of lesbian stuff in there as well! It's a women' s prison story you know! ) Just finished season 1 and it was brilliant. Actually went on a marathon run on Saturday and Sunday. It's a good thing that Netflix releases the whole season at once. Anyhoo, the character development in each episode was really good, not to mention a lot of raw performances. Looking forward to season 2. It's really sad how Tricia died. Looking at her back-story, I think she really deserved to have more a bit more screen-time. They killed the one character I empathized with. Completely agreed. It was like cos they have to end they did it by doing that. Anyways, I am watching many different shows right now. Completed season 1 of Southland. Quiet a good cop show. Burn Notice- On season 2, a good timepass show. Continumm- This season might be the last one i see for this as its turned boring. The Glades- On season 3. Like it for its light moments in between solving crimes. Psych- Almost finishing season 3. The best of the lot. Love it. Blue Bloods- On season 2. Another cop show. Acting is quiet good. Franklin and Bash- Watching season 3. Its a lawyer show with some comic moments. Perception- On season 2. Like it for its lead actor and his portrayal of an eccentric person. It almost hurt to see that it's not the case, even after all that running n hiding and killing in all the seasons with little pause. Gotta love Fichtner though. Planning to start with the "Orange Black" wala show in parallel. yep, shield is pretty awesome, its a tad lighter and faster in pace compared to 'the wire', but few season into the show, I found that the show getting diluted, suddenly vic and gang seem to be some kind of robin hoods stealing from the robbers as they have legit reasons and all that .... and the scene they show at the end of the pilot seems highly unconvincing in hindsight .... gave up somewhere in season 4 i guess .... i liked the character of that dutch guy more than vic though Edited July 23, 2013 by Ne0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It was pretty fascinating to watch the whole thing happen. The writing seems decent but the stories are just all over the place. It's like they can't decide what kind of show they want it to be. Anyone else watching this? Thoughts? It gets really good in the last couple of seasons. Shield is NOTHING like the Wire. I would probably compare it to something like Breaking Bad. I have always loved the show and while it has had some bad bumps, it has largely been very very watchable and also my life doesnt revolve around a tv show's intricacies so as long as I get entertained I watch it. The reporter made a mistake, it isn't ending after 10, the charlie day jst said tht they are signed up fer 10 as of now, n are open fer more seasons if the networks calls fer more. Btw, didn't like the last (8th) season much, only saw the first 4 eps. though, need to complete it, hope it gets better. ah, just read the update. Good, more IASIP.
