We have been getting light hearted Superman content from the DC Animated Universe and the CW shows for more than 3 years and they even brought back Brandon Routh and Tom Welling for a crossover episode talking about hope and quipping. Even the last appearance of Superman in the DCEU in JL was light hearted and full of quips. There’s barely any brooding Superman in comparison to the amount of light hearted content actually being put out. playstationdude Posted September 3, 2020 Report Share Posted September 3, 2020 He has been pretty brooding in the last 7 years. Even in the DC animated movies he hasnt been a classic Superman. Brandon Routh was far from a classic Superman. Christopher Reeves was the closest we had to the actual Superman comics. Tyler Hoechlin isnt Reeves by any measure, but his version is very likeable.
