I'm assuming they're making up for the loss of theater footfalls with these, hoping to drive subscriptions. I like all types of stuff from slow burn/offbeat shows like Better Call Saul to The Mandalorian, which is easily the best thing to have happened to Star Wars in quite some time. People can enjoy both y'know, I'm looking forward to everything from Marvel series' and Star Wars shows like Obi Wan. And no they aren't doing this to kill theaters like Warners is dumping their entire slate on streaming. Most of these series' were announced back in 2018-2019. They already have more than 10x subscribers of other new streaming services like HBO Max and Peacock. They aren't playing catch up like those two are.
