I AM SUPER DUPER SCARED :S

Ok so i was busy minding my own business, getting drunk at a friend's birthday treat... When we decide to go to the adjacent bakery for some delicious chicken burgers! (yeah there's Hearsch bakery right next to yacht - my watering hole) On the way to the bakery i see a big stone covered with some cloth so i just step over it carefully (remember i was pretty drunk), and the next instant i hear a dog yelping followed by a searing pain in my right ankle!

Now the problem is i don't know whether the bloody dog bit me or just scratched me with his paw (considering i had stepped on one of the paws)

I went to the doctor this morning and told him the story, after examining the wound he concluded that it is mostly a scratch from the paws and asked me if the dog had some froth near his mouth, or did he look tired and wet and all shitty, now the problem is that i don't remember what he looked like at all, for obvious reasons, he was a frigging stray , near a goddamn pub, i doubt if it would've been healthy, so i told him this and he said that i have to take a tetanus and 3 Rabies prevention shots over the whole week! :S

i am f**king scared now...i researched online a little now and found out that if the dog doesn't die within the next 10 days (without any fatal human empowered accidents) then i also won't have rabies for sure..otherwise it's a horrible death for me.

I am sh*t scared right now, and my dad is like we have to go keep the dog alive now for the next 10 days :S how will that help me? Any of you'll been bitten by dogs before?

Dont mean to sound inconsiderate / arrogant, but this is friggin BS. My cousin sister got a dog bite once and the above was dismissed by the doctor who said this is just an urban myth. How the hell can preventing a dog from dying help you? What, you and the dog have metaphysical connection or wat, like jaya bachchan in K3G? SRK is getting out of the helicopter and she comes running outside as if she saw the moment in her dreams!.. The dog aint jaya bachchan and you aint SRK! Deal with it. Im sure after 10 days youll come out looking all hale and healthy, look back at this day, and this forum post, and laugh your a*s off.

Man, we being educated people should be able to better determine fact from myth..

Last paragraph WTF

Why do u want to keep that dog alive ??

I am not getting this keeping the dog alive thing.......Doesnt keeping dog alive for 10 days sound kinda of those beliefs in villages and all??....just following medical procedure should be enough here IMO....anyways it is scary ....hope all is okay.

EVEN I DON'T GET THE RELATION thats why i asked 'how will it help me?' !!!!! I think my dad is also getting hyper and acting a little kookoo

Be safe than sorry , get the injections irrespective of the dog

Ya man i have to be safe other i won't BE there to be sorry :S

yes they usually monitor the dog also...i think there is somewhat a relation...someone with more knowledge on this can clear it out...its not a superstition i guess..somewhere medically related..but not sure as such

Ya i sure hope there a few doctor gamers in the forums too.

If a dog bites u.. the only way to recover from that is to bit him back

On a serious note, just take the shots man.. wuts the point taking the risk to wait to c if the dog dies and all... Just take the damn shots and leave that dog where it is..
