When u r console got RROD , u just have to call Service center and new console was with u in 5 days at max . Much lesser in metros Sure MS f**ked up the hardware at the launch but they did provide excellent service afterwards . Win Win situation for both . Buying a console and getting warranty for 3 years was very good . And what happens when PS3 gets YLOD , I heard people had to wait for almost a month to get the replacement Once again zee...it is not abt how microsoft did or sony did with the console warranty...microsoft's console hardware was more f**ked up so they gave 3 years wrranty to make it up for it...sony even though had its own f**ked up share of console but it was far less than microsoft....dont forget microsoft removed 3 year warranty once xbox slim entered the market....regarding as a customer service...well microsoft really did good here...got to agree with that... anyways .....look at older consoles like ps2 and all..they still work man 5-6 years and you still can insert a disc and start playing ....these consoles they start showing their age in abt 2-3 years .....and they are expensive than last gen consoles man.....and the biggest issue today is not just that when consoles go bad you get replaced ones....but today we download and all...100's of gigs of downloadble stuff all gone...that is even more pissing off....again you have to start all over again... Whether AMD or Nvidia or Intel, I don't think it'll be really lifelike for every game. Electronics items ki koi gurantee nahi hoti That is what's gotten us into this "oh it's broken, might as well buy a new one rather than sue the f**king company" attitude. Electronics are supposed to be made to last, instead these days they're made solely with a quick profit as a motive. It's not like the metals in chips (other than the metalloid silicon) are so abundant that they can afford to be wasted like this. Replace instead of repair. The older stuff used to last a great deal of time. New electronics items are made with absolutely no focus on reliability. And the companies give no heed to that aspect.. it's always just getting the latest graphics or the most performance out early, not after enough testing. Can't blame them really. When people throw money like sand, they're not gonna look the other way. I mean every company, not just MS or Sony. It's only the launch ones that were unreliable See its not about offering 3 years warranty.Giving a 3 year warranty to compensate for hardware reliability is no excuse to sell a POS hardware.All im saying is that they should not repeat the same mistake.The only reason why ps3 lagged behind MS despite an excellent piece of hardware was because of the stupid pricing on sony's part(40k for a video game, wtf ).Later on when tey reduced the prices they actually caught up with MS.
