Report and 30-second GIF:

- On Friday night Bellator 123 took place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, and you can read the complete report at this link. Here are the highlights for you wrestling fans.

  • In a heavyweight fight, TNA World Champion Bobby Lashley (now 11-2) returned to MMA for the first time since November of 2013, and scored a second round submission over Josh Burns (now 8-8). Burns wasn't much competition for Lashley, who controlled the fight and won without much resistance. This was good news for TNA, who were risking a lot with their World Champion taking an MMA fight. Of note, Lashley had no sponsorships on his shorts, not even a TNA logo. While Lashley won the fight, he still showed some of the problems that have held him back in MMA. He couldn't finish his submissions (he had several attempts at a key lock) and due to his size and build, got tired. No word on when Lashley will fight again for Bellator. He has won four fights in a row, dating back to June of 2013.
  • In a light heavyweight fight, part time TNA performer King Mo (now 13-4) defeated Dustin Jacoby (now 10-4) via second round TKO. Mo controlled the striking against Jacoby, who is normally a middleweight and was a late replacement, Mo's third opponent as the other two fell out. Mo looked good, rebounding from his controversial loss to Rampage Jackson back in May. Mo stated that he was a, "Money-Weight Fighter" and will fight at middle, light heavy or heavyweight for Bellator. Mo is now 5-3 in Bellator, and 2-2 in his last four fights.
  • You can watch the finishes of both fights below…

Watched the above segmemt after reading so many praises. Heyman was good as usual, but I wouldn't call this his best work yet. John Cena was also great. People are generally so engrossed in "hating" him that his mic work often remains underrated. No matter how stale his character is, the guy does his best to play it.

Speaking about best mic workers, Bully Ray is also a very capable contender. People still talk about how he managed to turn a seemingly random and full-of-plot-holes Aces & 8s storyline into something that seemed very well-executed. No one else could have saved that story arc at that time(and even he wasn't able to save it for long though, as Aces & 8s were fundamentally a weak concept to hang around for long).

Austin Aries is another name that is at that level in my opinion. And Bischoff of course was at that level. I wish Bischoff could still be in TNA. He was sacked because of Hogan's faults.

Can TNA get over?

A very well-written article including actual statements from people like Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles and Vince Russo. It's tough times for the company with a completely uncertain future, and ironically they are having the best product in ages right now.
