mshingore
I always though it was just for the sake of hiding some injury, because of which he couldn't continue anymore, but if that was the case it's pretty lame to accept such match against the undertaker at wrestlemania, maybe shawn did want to retire so he though he would go out in a blaze of glory Rofl

Ph3N0M
But he failed. And BTW, he wrestled before coming to TNA.
Big Boss
It went back & forth with lot of quick moves Did we watch the same match? Quick moves? It was 70% sleeper holds/choke holds to allow Rock to take breather as he was injured at the start itself. The ending only was fast but 90% same as last WM match. It was underwhelming.
Stevie G
Why did Shawn micheals retire ? He wanted to spend time with his family
Stevie G
Atleast lastyears match ended with a huge pop This time it ended with Cena getting booed Only thing I liked this time was Takers Match and his post match respect to Paul Also the set was class

True the match was awful! Got bored half way through. It was just a rock bottom-AA bonanza. keep hitting keep kicking out until it's finally time to end Wrestlemania. HHH vs Brock was at least entertaining. their's wasn't a predicable bout when it came to their move sets. Rock vs Cena was absolutely devoid of any innovation. NitroNeo
It was his time to retire, so he did it via a match against Undertaker at WM. Just like Ric Flair did against HBK at WM. Mostly great stars retire on grand stage like WM in such stipulation matches. Ok but eve if WWE is fake, i still would want to end my career there on a winning note, just saying, would have love to see a sensei / student thing, where the wrestler who would retire wins & tells the guy who lost to carry on his legacy, would be so awesome to see such respect
LaughingMan777
the only surprise this WrestleMania brought was that Ziggler didn't cash in his money in the bank

It's about putting on a grand show on your swan song.. And it's generally perceived that if you are eventually leaving the company, you do so in a losing cause; which they term as 'good business ethics' and that's why the Montreal Screwjob also happened because Bret Hart wanted to Win in his last match before leaving the company to which Shawn Michaels himself agrees was Bad Business. And Shawn was taking on the Undertaker who didn't need to cement his legacy anyways.. But the match they put on was spectacular.. One of the top 5 WM matches ever.. It's about giving back to the company in the grandest gesture you can rather than personal accomplishments. Jericho loses a lot of matches to upcoming superstars but that's what he does.. He puts younger people over.. He might lose to a young guy too in his eventual final match but that won't hurt his legacy even the slightest bit
mshingore
Oh and even after winning the match, Undertaker did not celebrate his victory. He just left the ring and let Shawn take centre stage.. One of the most emotional scenes you'll get to see. And on the following Raw, when Shawn came out to say his good bye speech, Undertaker comes out suddenly to his ominous music, but stops at the ramp, bows his head down and raises his hat to HBK. You could see the respect both had for each other and you could see how emotional HBK was. So despite losing, Shawn Michaels did go out on a high
NitroNeo
I still don't agree to this, if you would show a guy like jericho losing his final match then it would be respectable in the #0% dedicated wrestling fans, but in front of 70% casual wrestling fans, he would be walking away as just another guyFor me a guy who retires deserves a grand send off & an amazing winning memory, good business or bad a guy who is established enough should not deserve a losing moment, i guess when rock was the corporate chump , he did the same to hulk hogan, i wasn't a hogan fan so i didn't mind but looking at it from a neutral perspective, that was one sour memory for me, losing because of a screwjob & special refree renee dupree
mshingore
Your view man! For me Shawn Michaels losing at WM didn't spoil his legacy even the slightest bit.. And I had seen that when I was just a casual fan.. The ovation he received and the grand send off was fitting for a legend like him.. Win or lose, it was a definite high
CM Sunny
I still don't agree to this, if you would show a guy like jericho losing his final match then it would be respectable in the #0% dedicated wrestling fans, but in front of 70% casual wrestling fans, he would be walking away as just another guy I don't think they are dying for the non casual/mark's respect anyways. If you can't appreciate what they actually do (aka if it's still real for you), your respect ain't needed anyways. For me a guy who retires deserves a grand send off & an amazingwinning memory, good business or bad a guy who is established enough should not deserve a losing moment, i guess when rock was the corporate chump , he did the same to hulk hogan, i wasn't a hogan fan so i didn't mind but looking at it from a neutral perspective, that was one sour memory for me, losing because of a screwjob & special refree renee dupree You have no idea what you're saying, Some of the best wrestlers like Jericho are so good at putting guys over. No amount of losses can tarnish their good work, losing doesn't matter in WWE (see Cena). Rock is still a legend despite putting over Cena.Did you like Ziggler cashing in? Also lemme guess, you hate Punk? Edited April 15, 2013 by Sunny Coffee
NitroNeo
I Have no reason to hate punk's character, wwe storylines are so boring these days that i don't care much for anyone
Stevie G
Shawn Michales went out at the top of his game after an amazing storyline against the Greatest Wrestler Of All Time .It does not get better than wrestling a 5 star match in the main event of Wrestlemania and getting retired by the Undertaker and just to let you know how special the match is The last time the main event of wrestlemania was a non title match was way back at Wrestlemania 11 IMO the Taker HBK hug is the Greatest Wretlemania Moment Of All Time
NitroNeo
If that is the case & if undertaker has such a huge dazzling career of his own, i wonder who would retire him ?
Stevie G
Undertaker will retire after going 25-0 or he will retire at Survivor Serles with a loss
