Because Cena is like SRK. Only kids and women love him. Adults hate him because he is pathetic in the ring and on mic.

Just watched this. The comments don't do justice to the level of shittiness of this ending. I didn't imagine it'd be this bad. f**kers ruined even the Royal Rumble, the one match I always thought was hard to screw up.

Me wantz Dudley Boyz vs Hardy Boys at wrestlemania  Too much to ask though :P Man Devon should have been there as well with Bubba :ack: So many memories man

That happened less than half a year back. And look for their full metal mayhem match against Hardys and Wolves, was one of the best matches of last year:

The reason why it was the second biggest pop was precisely because the Philly crowd knows that his return is kind of a big deal. Other crowds who aren't as smart would not have popped as much. Him being asked to use his 15 year old persona is a disrespect to all his work after he left WWE and is a sure sign that they don't really want to use him as anything other than a nostalgia act. The guy was the freaking world champion and the most over heel in the business for quite a while, and they are using him as a pop-inducing rumble entrant who doesn't even last long enough! I guess he got what he was asking for though. Being a dick doesn't help no matter how good you are.

So you wanted Bully Ray instead of Bubba Ray?

I am having a hard time even writing Bubba Ray because Bully Ray is so much more evolved than that Dudley persona, and had so much more success. Fans who watch more than the WWE(or no WWE) no longer call him Bubba.

I understand that mere bhai. What I'm trying to emphasize is that he left his Bubba Ray persona in the WWE and when he came back he was what he was to the WWE i.e. Bubba Ray. If given time he'll evolve to whatever he's good at. And the people who run the show are also aware of it. Afterall their livelihoods depend on it.

Regarding the Rumble booking, early Bryan elimination etc, EVERYTHING was done to put Roman over:

1. Eliminate Bryan early enough, especially long before Roman enters. This prevents Bryan getting eliminated near end and people completely sh*ting on Reigns. Exactly reverse happened.

2. Keep Rusev, Show and Kane in final 4, so that no one will cheer anyone but Reigns. I mean imagine Show and Kane in final 4, in 2015. This is like Viscera and Mark Henry remaining in final 4 during attitude era. All these years in Rumble, final 4 had always been potential winners, keeping the crowd guessing. But this time, it was pretty clear.

3. Keep Rusev, the anti American heel, in final 2. Surely WWE fans wont cheer for Rusev? Right? WRONG.

4. Get Rock appear and save Reigns, beat up authority guys, put Roman over. Let him raise Roman's hand, and point towards crowd like he is the MAN. Surely crowd will cheer at least now? WRONG.

5. Send HHH and Steph to absorb the boos, that oughta work? WRONG.

Overall, whatever was horrible about Rumble, was entirely due to the fact that they tried really really hard to make Roman a star. It backfired even more.

Wrestlers evolve and promotions accept and adapt to that. But not the WWE who live in their own shell(universe). That kind of approach puts off more serious wrestling

fans. And they are not serious about Bully as his early elimination suggests.

WWE won't simply get Bubba Ray and publish him as he was in TNA, they will have to build him up as singles competitor first, cuz when he left WWE he was a major in Tag Team Division, never a success in singles (as Edge was, escaping from the tag team with Christian), but i doubt he will he get any push or be utilized properly as there is some good pool of talents already in WWE's extended roster (NXT) to be pushed into the main show's (RAW and SD). This time is not a good time to jump ships.

@titman, perfectly put. imo, the only ONE match that saved the entire RR was the Title Match, BC kitna bhi baar dekho, dil ni bharta B)

It's not just about TNA. WWE won't recognize his evolution as a singles wrestler even if it happened at NJPW or somewhere else. They should get out of their bubble and stop pretending that WWE Universe is the universe. They don't even allow established guys like Prince Devitt keep their names.
