He is number 1 merch seller for 2023 because Rock wasn’t even there!! Number 2 is still Austin because of just Few of those minutes at Wrestlemania!! Imagine a guy who’s just shy of number 1 being out few minutes against a guy who’s appearing non stop throughout 2 years!! Let’s see where Rock stands at 2024 list. Also Cody has yet to prove he can be the next John Cena or even Roman Reigns let alone Rock,Austin,Hogan!! But again, marketing doesn't define what the entire event is about. More than juat Rock, it was mostly Rock vs Cody. If anything, Roman was sidelined. Again, none od that means the entire mania was about him. That is as big a fanboyish and deluded one can be. He hardly had any role to play at night 2 ans that is where this mania shined the most. There were so many storylines which continued, were built up and were finished by wwe there and diluting all that to just Rock is stupid. Again, he hardly created any impact in tv ratings and once he is gone, tv ratings would hardly suffer beyond the usual post mania dip. Heck, even in raw where he bloodied Cody wasn't the most watched segment. It was 3rd and ratings literally dipped then. Seth, Punk, Drew drew maximum ratings. Roman needs a break? From what? He made like 2-3 appearances in a month and didn't even compete in all PPVs in a year and almost no matches on RAW/SmackDown.
