Question: Is the single player difficulty level like COD? I mean cheating AI, endlessly spawning grenades under your feet, unstoppable waves of enemies until you hit the next checkpoint? Or is it closer to games like F.E.A.R. or Gears Of War?

 

I hate COD's idea of difficulty levels btw.

Oye dullu......so does Kz2 live up to the hype??

 

 

I would say partially......There are moments of brilliance;

but some dumb AI on the part of your squadmates brings things down :P last level specifically.

....

 

I would say the game is all bt the visual brilliance and the weapon design is best i have seen in a longtime......But

strip the visuality and it seems just like another shooter

Yes - few instances where that happens. It is a mashup of all the games you mentioned(the good & bad parts).

And I can tell you're going to hate the final level.

Agreed. Despite all its flaws, the game is very entertaining and totally worth the price of admission considering the hours of fun to be had in campaign replays and multiplayer value.

Agreed......I am already into my second SP playthrough and i am enjoying it endlessly :naughty:

The enemies don't keep respawning endlessly. They come limited in number and once you kill them you can move ahead. The AI in COD sucks...in Killzone 2 it is much more realistic....so they won't keep throwing grenades a 100 yards....its not just the AI...even the physics engine won't allow you to throw then 100 yards away.

I'm already dreading the last level...

 

If the game allows you to 'clear' an area (no matter how hard it is), it'll be fine with me. I like the classic Doom design when it comes to shooters, enter an area, kill everyone, move on to next unless it's a free roaming game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R..

I agree with Tyler. Actually COD 4 wanted to create a tense fast paced war sim, where you shouldn't be wanking off in a corner behind a barrel when the world is burning around you. But the way they chose to do that is plain frustrating. Especially in veteran mode.

 

Whats so bad about the last level in KZ 2 ? Some are saying its nothing short of pure epic and some say we'll hate it ? Interesting :P

Hate it cos its frustratingly difficult. Its still epic though

Its tough even on normal difficulty....

^^ They weren't invisible... the camera angles were so bad that you couldn't see them. In the end I just used to throw shurikens in all directions and whenever the combo meter popped up I knew I had found one.

 

Anyway back on topic, it's good to know that KZ2 doesn't follow the COD principle.

There are one or two instances where enemies will continue to re-spawn, especially the train level. But it is not as bad as COD games.

 

As for the last level, it is brutally tough because there are tonnes of enemies and only three save points, which are almost 15 mins apart. Die once and you are thrown back 15 mins into the game. I found the last level more frustrating then epic. The two levels that preceded it had a more epic feel then this.

 

Btw, do carefully listen to

Radec's

dialogs while the fight is on. Some times he will say funny things. Like once, instead of the usual line, he said, "Kill the fat one first!", reffering to Rico. :wOOtjumpy:

btw the other day i was playing the game with anskspam....and there was this one instance when a hig was taking cover....ankspam tried to go around the side and the hig just suddenly flew 50 feet into the air like a rocket and came back down....the most bizzare bug ive seen in the game.....again this was the review copy that had quite a few bugs
