Killzone 2 One-Year Anniversary

If you strolled around the European PlayStation Home Square late last week, chances are you came across the Helghast troopers of the 101st Dutch Community Team. No, their presence doesn't signify an imminent Home invasion - they were there to celebrate the upcoming one-year anniversary of Killzone 2.

Granted, those troopers may have jumped the gun a little, because Killzone 2 wasn't released until the end of February. But then, who's going to correct a rowdy mob of partying Helghast? Not us! In fact, we’re going to join them in celebrating the first anniversary of Killzone 2, starting this week. Here's what you can expect from Killzone.com over the coming days:

* The Killzone 2 Community Awards

Killzone 2 itself has already received lots of awards - now how about some recognition for the Killzone 2 community? In this two-part feature, we look at the most remarkable accomplishments of Killzone 2 players, clans, fans and events. Part 1 hits February 22.

* DLC Bundle Voucher Code Giveaway

We're going to give away voucher codes for the full Killzone 2 DLC Bundle via Twitter again. If you're not following @killzonedotcom on Twitter yet, now might be a good time to start. Exact rules and dates will be posted on Killzone.com on February 24.

* Double XP Weekend Is Back

The final weekend of February will be another Double XP Weekend. Just like last time, XP points for victories will be tripled, while XP points for losses will be doubled. See how quickly you can rise through the ranks! Double XP Weekend runs from February 26 – 28.

* And more...

We've prepared a few signed pieces of concept art, which will be given out to lucky fans. Keep a close eye on Killzone.com, PlayStation.Blog and PlayStation.Blog.Europe for details on how to obtain one of these masterpieces.

It's been an awesome eleven-and-a-half months for Killzone 2, and we hope our fans will join us in celebrating the upcoming anniversary. The year wouldn't have been the same without you!

no FPS still stands with it in terms of environment & graphics.

Definitely superb technical graphics. I honestly didn't like the environments. Very good MP - and I have to say it, I find it really really hard to go through the campaign - it's super boring. Last night I played a few levels again, and didn't think twice about shutting down. That doesn't happen in other great shooters. Maybe for KZ3 they should concentrate on the campaign as well.

Oh and Rico - worst sidekick ever.

Knife in MP would be so cool.

i am with gramps here. the campaign is super bore. :rofl:

gears was much better than this in campaign wise. (comparing with gears cause its the only other big name flagship console specific fps i played)

maybe cause i played gears as local co-op with a couple of my friends.. but anyway the characters were much better in that, even though the story is, well pretty bland in both.

GG have a really epic story for the series in the website. i wonder why they dont flesh out it properly ..
