BuffMonkey
Played it today..is great..completely AWESOME i have 1 complaint tho. When u kill the enemies, they seemed to kinda go ragdoll on you...so it kinda confuses you as to if they're really dead or not. :s
TechGuitar
When u kill the enemies, they seemed to kinda go ragdoll on you...so it kinda confuses you as to if they're really dead or not. :s The devs did that on purpose but i agree with you. You shoot a guy and he maybe dead but he looks as though he is still alive and you go on shooting...wasting bullets
Anmolsc
played this game at ps experience today.. omg this game is awesome this is one of the 2 things that makes me wanna buy ps3.. gfx simply awesome..the cut scene transforms into gameplay but u wont notice the difference cuz there isnt any...gfx are amaing..guns handle well..reload animation is awesome...fp cover is amazing and works well...,,blood effects are damn good.. loved the game.. i would give it a 9.5/10 i would have given it 10/10 if i was playing it with a xbox360 controller cuz the controls and the controller for the ps3 plain and simple sucks
Bulovski
I saw this game at the PSE today - OMG. This game does everything oh-so-well. There was one scene where some soldiers are in a building opposite. The player takes them out - even the mortar crumbles! And then when he blew up a can the resulting explosion very realistically takes down overhanging ledges. This game was very strategically placed next to R2 and in every department R2 paled in comparison.

And you are saying this after playing the game with plain sixaxis controller without force feedback. Wait till you play it with dual shock3. Apparently this game has the best force feedback among all other PS3 games.

Anmolsc
i finished kz2 beta today at pse..that was the first game i got my hand on at pse and played till the demo ended. yeah i know playing with ds3 is better..but i mean even if its ds3..the controller wasnt comfortable and i mean they have shitty triggers its ok bu i mean they arent used for shooting ..and whatever i think with ds3 and a little getting used to the ps3 controller kz2 could be goty09
CarbonCore
But the PC fps experts say the game is underwhelming I'm confused. Anyways the game feels entirely different with DS3 and vibration, and it is better played with PS3 controller than 360 because the quickest way to take down the enemy is to tap the shoulder button as fast as possible-not hold it-and R1 is lot more tap-friendly than triggers on 360. And technically, R2 is in a league of its own. The amount of stuff that happens on screen at once in Resistance 2 will simply bring KZ2 to a crawling 5-10 fps. And looking at the MP beta of both games, Insomniac's net code is miles ahead of KZ2 (or any other console shooter for that matter).

No contest, hopefully they'll help zipper with MAG There's lots going onscreen in killzone2 as well. it doesn't throw as many enemies as R2 at once but k2 it has better geometry, models, lighting, shadowing etc etc.
CarbonCore
it doesn't throw as many enemies as R2 at once Thats what brings KZ2's framerate down, like MGS4. In the beta if you have more than 10-15 guys buckled up in a choke points, the framerate really chugs to unplayable level. In R2 co-op beta, there were literally hundreds of enemies on screen at once, with bullets, explosions and flying debris and the game never skipped a single frame. The difference in graphics between the cutscenes and actual campaign (both real time) in R2 tells you what Insomniac would've achieved if they had gone for quality over quantity. Somebody
just saw the 1up show. somebody doesn't like killzone2 coz the weapon physics were too realistic. he says " real weapons are very hard to shoot but killzone2 is set in the future and it doesn't have real weapons so i dint like it" or something like that. and he said the movement was too slow even at highest sensitivity so he was always battling with the controls so he is sceptical abt Killzone2. Bulovski
But the PC fps experts say the game is underwhelming I'm confused. I am not sure what the experts mean by underwhelming - what are they looking for? The action is frantic in KZ2 and the experience is pure cinema. Some of the small touches I loved: Using the reload time for good animation. The blood splatter and the kill animations are absolutely crazy. The cinematic scripted events are really good. @KC - yeah that blew my mind away
MarketTantrik
just saw the 1up show. he said the movement was too slow even at highest sensitivity so he was always battling with the controls He is not wrong in this. While I get what GG is trying to simulate with the control dynamics, it felt painful in the build they were running at PSE. I hope its improved in the current beta build. CarbonCore
Turning is slow, but movements like sprinting, vaulting over cover etc are fast. Its like opposite to Gears where turning is fast but character movement feels like you're controlling a tank. You get used to in an hour or two. Only downside is that when you play KZ2 for few hours and then go back to other FPS games, they feel too sterile and artificial. It feels like your character is on skateboard instead of two feet and running. The feeling of inertia and movement is perfectly captured in KZ2, it just takes some time to get used to. OOOOH!!!! that reminds me of a certain section from chicago. think 25-30 chimera , a dozen sentinels, lots of exploding cars, flying drones, a couple of stalkers, hellfire turrets etc. total madness
Hot-Drake-Pixel
Offtopic: Doesn't R2 reduce the output resolution to manage that instead of dropped framerate? many ppl confuse that with not so great gfx but a dropped frame rate would have been worse.
