Its publicly funded so I don't think money is involved. All Nvidia had to do is give extra hand in optimization in return of their in-game advertising while AMD sat with their thumb up their butt.

If its AMD GPU you're fked, reason why I went with PS4 version. Even the mighty 290X struggles to keep up with 760.

I have read worse things about the console versions, yes even PS4. 50% of the gametime will have screen tearing and the other 50% will have frames dropping below 40(20s in rain, 10s in Azure+rain).

Basically has no vsync, no frame capping option, no optional 30fps lock, bad AA- nothing on consoles. Oh and runs on medium-high. With a 290x you will get 60 easily on all high with AA...plus the less than half price tag of 1299. I am waiting for disc(18th i guess). Playing the 'community assisted repack service' to satisfy myself till then. :P

Ofcourse if u have already bought on PS then unread everything u read. :P

If it were only that simple.

Nope, runs flawless except when 30 car grid is piled up on screen in heavy rain. 290s on the other hand are having lot of trouble getting up to 60fps on medium high even without rain, and it wildly fluctuates between 30 and 60. At least PS4 version is stable 90% of the time. After living with 290 for almost a year, when someone says the game runs crap on AMD card I immediately trust them and avoid PC version.

I wouldn't touch 30fps in a sim though even if I had to run it at 480p, so 30fps lock is irrelevant.

EDIT: Console version has 4x EQAA afaik which is equivalent to 4x MSAA. PS4 version in addition has temporal AA to minimize shimmering and pixel crawl.

The game is heavily CPU bound as per DF, and AMD driver coding is terrible for DX11 CPU intensive games, so this was expected. As per recent DF article, DX12 has removed that particular amd issue and cards were having great improvement in CPU calls. So there is hope. Fx 8350 was actually on par with i5 in most cases on DX12.

For those who own this game..Do you upgrade the cars with various performance parts which you might receive through winning races or unlocking stuff..Or they are already pre-upgraded and all you can do is tweak tire pressure, brakes, steering etc..?

Also, do you receive any rewards for winning races or championships like reward points, money, cars (i don't know about this since i've heard all cars are unlocked from Day 1)..?

How big is the career mode..? Good online..?
