Ya its useless just like collecting stamps and coins.

WHOA! ...i really dont see the any comparision to gamescores with stamps and coins....the reason why gamescores are useless is basically you giving hundreds of yours life precious hours to get that Platinum/achievement .....where as coins and stamps dont require that kinda of time.....

You are not getting my point. I see it useless and waste of time. But for them collectors its their LIFE.

Let me keep it this way You might be playing games more than just as a recreational activity and people might be thinking it useless. Or even that tomb raider artbook you bought as a fan or collector which ppl would have called waste of money...same thing which you consider best investment you have made. :)

it is not about money here....it is about his time in life......the thing is we all spent time on gaming so it is not like he is alone but there is so much overdoing to get that one trophy or achievement...that literally makes no sense....which is what i am talking abt....

Video games are great way to recretaion and a story telling ...which is all he should use it for until and unless it is also earning him a living....

And why should we bother about his time? :)

I run on a treadmill for 10 mins daily, so i should call all professional runners 'jobless fellows' cuz they are chasing some record i feel stupid and their 5hrs a day training regime a waste of time.

No one is saying abt being bothered abt his time or anything...just giving our thoughts on it....coz if that is the case 99% of the thing here really does not bother us but we do have our opinions for that, right??

abt runners part ...i dont know why you comparing something like a professional runner to a video gamer...

100% agreed. I tried soo many times to get myself for that platinum .. but never found it worth. With so many games to play.. why waste time on repeated activity just for some achievement which may or may not be fun..

Life is short so play good games ...

have to give microsoft marketing a tip of the hat though... there are actually morons out there who think that gamerscore is important and they even buy games to boost it. why shouldn't microsoft take advantage of that stupidity? i just saw this on the xbox dashboard....

they are literally selling games where you can get easy achievements/points and the gamerscore whoring retards probably lap it up like candy.
