Ok, so u r a console gamer who just got an awesome graphics card and playing games maxxed out on PC like a bauss B) but can't adjust urself to the keyboard+mouse :console:

fear not, i am here B)

Things to have:

DS 3 controller with the USB wire

Windows OS

Motioninjoy software (aKa DS3 Tool)

Patience and Common Sense

The Process:

download and extract this

64 bit OS:

http://www.xinputer.com/download/MotioninJoy_060003_amd64_signed.zip

32 bit OS:

http://www.xinputer.com/download/MotioninJoy_060003_x86_signed.zip

install(as administrator), in the end just untick the run DS3 tool, and finish the installation

then plug in ur DS3 controller into ur computer's usb port, when it gets detected (as a USB device) run the DS3 Tool(as administrator).

close the web page that pops up, go to the launched application, now, click driver manager.

see the Hardware Location, there should be something like Port_#000xxxxxxblahblahblah, just check the box to the left of it, and click load driver.

wait for it to complete, it may ask to reboot, so just reboot.

after the reboot, launch the DS3 Tool(as admin), click on Profiles, see if it shows PS3 DS3 controller, if not, then do this (see the Hardware Location, there should be something like Port_#000xxxxxxblahblahblah, just check the box to the left of it, and click load driver.) again, and check the Profile page.

once it shows DS3 Controller, Check the emulate 360 box, then, click on Vibration Testing, if it vibrates, then congo, u r good to go, click Enable, and u r done.

if it doesn't then, exit the application, unplug ur DS3 from PC, re-plug it on another USB port, run the application(as admin), load the driver, emulate it as 360, do the vibration test.

note: if the DS3 keeps blinking, then just reset it once after the blinking is done, then when u connect it via USB to ur PC, it should show that it's charging up, or if it's fully charged, all the lights should be on.

note 2: i am on Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate.

the controller should work on all the games that support the xbox 360 controller.

games i have tested, it works flawlessly.

Why would you want to use the PS3 controller?

coz most of us here have PS3 and 360, but the 360 we have, contains the wireless controller, so why pour in monies just to get the controller for pc? i mean wireless receiver for pc, that too priced like crazy? lulwut u mad?

hey could we use ps2 dualshock controller with pc also

haven't tried that, so can't say bru

@Sacky, Udham, thanks :cheers:

done, works like a pro on all games that have support for a xbox controller, esp those sports game which just tell you to press RT + A to pass when you are actually playing with a KB+Mouse,

sports games tested by me,

Fifa 11

NBA2K11

PES11

Virtua Tennis 4

You can improve the customization by using Pinnacle game profiler along with motioninjoy. Its a paid software but makes button inputs completely customizable.

as in which button on the DS3 corresponds to the button on 360?

i have used both the controller, so i know which button is where, so i don't require to use anything else, for those who don't the 360 controller layout, just google the layout and fit it in ur mind, lol, but after few times of gaming, u will probably get used to it.
