ROFL old a*s games that can be bought for 10 bucks apiece. And they couldnt even do the courtesy of throwing in the disc versions.

tbh.....I feel downloadable games offer is better in these days...i as a collector look for physical copy but trust me it sucks to think at times that i will have to buy sames games again to play on ps vita or may be even ps4.........digital saves lot of money in long run......

Edit: also not to forget the puke worthy Xbox classics and PS3 platinum hits boxes not even worth for free.....though xbox classics is still better than ps3 platinum hits....

^^^^

That's assuming your digital purchase is valid for the next generation hardware also :P

it mostly is these days...PSP games can be played on VITA downloadable ones.......xbox 360 also has many xbox 1 games for download....this gen is already hd gen so i dont even see that next gen will require some kinds of hd treatment again for this gen games.....

Ps, the day you have to download 20gb+ games, you would start hating digital.

And if you have those fancy speeds, you would rather like to have something like OnLive.

Xbox og, ps2 games are restricted due to size of media, even the 360 games are, but ps3 games aren't.

Would you download a 40gb game on a 1mbps conn with 60gb fup which will take you days or rather buy it off retail?

Exactly, digital only games are a different matter, but when we have the physical disks available in the market, I would never want to buy a digital version of it, just because I MAY be able to play it on future hardware.

Guys, I only said digital saves money in long run...and i can give you example right now....say someone who bought valkyria chronicles 2 on umd and someone on digital...both paid same amount....the one who bought umd will never be able to play that game on psvita and one who got digital copy is secured.....so tell me isnt it a smart deal....and like you guys i am also prefer physical copy....i like to collect but if i see i need to buy my favourite game in abt a year again....i will have to go digital...

@udham things have changed man....these days people have amazing connection ...it is still in minority but just in couple of months jhag ,parth all posted connections speed that make atleast xbox 360 games download size game much more time saving ....and psp games and all toh they can download within the time they go to toilet and get halka...i have got new hope that someday kolkata will have that connection too....also u dont want me to go abt talking speed in developed countries right ....I know speed that my cousin has abroad abt 10mbps iirc ....and even then they were talking abt taking some more high speed...so in near future huge digital download size wont be an issue....not atleast where majority of games sales are generated......

I though have never tried onlive and just seen a trailer or two...but it sounds cool......if i got all the nintendo, xbox ,ps3 games on that i would blindly go for it....even it is bit expensive but that wont be the case right?? ...so got to stick with whatever i have...

Something is digital doesn't mean that it would be compatible on next-gen hw too. Because I'm having a feeling that you assume it to be that way.

You are assuming that the architecture changes in next-gen hw will still allow to play games you bought digitally 10 yrs back, no sir it may not.

May be due to issue with architecture, general compatibility issues, cost overheads, it wouldn't be possible to maintain BC on long run, doesn't matter you bought them digitally or retail.

xbox og compatibility isn't built only on the side of system, games need to be patched too. So you basically need a back-end team which keep making these patches for the compatibility issues, something which wouldn't be possible for long run cuz either it has to be done at console manufactures end or on the developer side, it will just add up overheads and no real value to those companies.

Coming back to connection thing, I too have 10MBPS conn, has a FUP of...wait for it...30GB. :suicide:

But I never feel comfortable downloading more than 5GB on my PC (even that I do very very rarely) 1-1.5GB on consoles, on PS3 I avoid downloading completely.

and bhai "...." kam use kiya kar, padhane mein bahot dikkat hota hai.
